what the **** is with this "Hopkins is not gonna win a close decision in Canada" bull****

When did Canada get a reputation for corrupt decisions

Was it when Demers lost to Miranda in a decision that could easily have gone his way?

When Ngoudjo got a SD over Bailey in a 50/50 fight?

If anything, with Hopkins being promoted by Golden Boy, I'm worried that Pascal will not get the decision he deserves. I remember how Guzman, a golden boy fighter, got a gift draw in quebec city against Ali Funeka

Don't confuse Quebec City with Saint-Louis, we don't give hometown fighters gifts like you guys do down in the states.

I don't think saying that bhop has to do more than pascal in order to get a decision is a bad statement or anti-canadian.
If he's in the mans backyard and it's a close fight.. normally the Native wins.
Not letting the fight be too close and left for the judges is just simply the right idea.
winning convincingly is a must for the old guy against a boxer trying to be the future.

I totally agree with you, it was a robbery. But:

    1) This was not a fighter from Québec, but rather a GBP fighter.

    2) Roussel is not judging this fight. The local judge is Claude Paquette, who seems honnest. For example, he ruled the Demers-Joppy fight a draw, even though, in my opinion, the local fighter won a close but clear decision.

    3) You should be scared of the Belgian judge Daniel Van de Wiele, though. He's a crook.:scaredas:

It has nothing to do with Pascal not making eye contact,

it's Bernard doing his mind games, trying to take a fighter out his gameplan by getting him angry and making it personal

Did you ever see what Bernard did to Trinidad during there press conference???

He aint trying to get Pascal scared, he trying to get him pissed, being fueled by emotions makes you do stupid things.

I've read that about Van de wiele :verysad

if anything..this should encourage Bernard to be more active and more exciting during the fight and not just coasting and awaiting a decision.
I'm sure Pascal is going to Bring the ruckus for his fans at home.

Ok, now don't start with this, you'll lose the battle. I always tell the same thing and haven't been proven wrong so far.

i've seen refs wave off far less of a beating than though Dracon. ..nevermind the count. and the neutral corner debacle... the ref wasn't going to stop the fight while bute was out on his feet and getting slapped around.

I reckon very few referees would have stopped the fight, considering there was almost no time left and that the guy who was taking a beating in the last round dominated the whole fight (as opposed to a guy who had no chance to win whatsoever and was getting destroyed).

Trust me, I'm not the kind of person who would defend a crook just because it serves me. I initially thought Wright's behavior was disgraceful, but he simply is a very by-the-book referee, as you can see with the Pascal fight I posted.
