Berto Beats Manny:

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by mrjotatp4p, Dec 17, 2010.

  1. Margarito is a killing machine. He's programed only to take out his opponent at all costs. Margarito has a heart of gold and a chin of steel.

Give Pacquiao credit too. It was his will to survive that got him through those 2 punches. Looked like Margarito loaded up even more than when he nailed Cintron with the body shot.

You dont wanna ruin Berto this early. Pac may very well retire in a few years, and we need boxers like Berto to keep boxing alive. Let them mature into great fighters rather than pitting them in with the big dogs so early.

No, it isn't worse than Hattons, at least Berto has quicker reflexes. Either way there is no way in hell Berto beats him. He would make it interesting for a round or two before Pac completely takes over. KO by round 6

    I disagree.

Berto still has holes in his defense, and he appears to have a weak chin.

Berto's chin is still questionable. He may be just as fast as Pac, but Pac's timing will have him edge out in exchanges. Pac will TKO him if they ever fight. Then the *****s will discredit the win by calling Berto overrated.

I never said there was anything wrong with losing. If you fight the best, you are gonna lose some of the fights. I just know that when Pac dismantles Berto, and he will, *****s are gonna be calling this guy a bum.

Berto is explosive. He throws crisp, hard shots with bad intentions. But he tends to stand flat footed too much while waiting for an opening and his head movement is very limited. Pac WILL land signature bombs on him at some point because Berto also seems to have issues with southpaws.

It's a fight that wouldn't go the distance, but Manny should give Andre Berto a shot over Mosley. While Berto can definitely win this fight and start a path to greatness, Pac is favored in my opinion. It would be quite a fight for as long as it lasts.

I'd be satisfied to see Pac in with either a young lion like Berto (and take his "0") or Juan Manuel Marquez, since they need to settle some unfinished business. Pac is the champ and he will do what he wants in the end. If he chooses Mosley, then I won't watch.

Pac vs Berto would be an interesting fight for the hardcore boxing fans, but financially it doesn't make sense for Pac who can get more lucrative fights against bigger name opponents.

Pac would KO berto hatton style. Berto's a chinny mother****er who squares up when he throws his combos. Pac would slip a good one in there and rock berto's world.

From what I've seen of him, he is a compact puncher, and has a very good uppercut along with good speed. But, his defense has holes in it...and it's usually when he opens up and throws these wide shots he is open to counters. Also, like a number of people have already said...he squares up a bit too much.

I don't believe a Berto v Pacquiao bout would be competitive, but that doesn't mean that it wouldn't...he just hasn't faced anyone on the level of a Pacquiao yet. And when he has stepped up, he hasn't really impressed me.

Saying that, I would rather see Berto in there with Pacquiao than Mosley.
