Heavyweights - Who is the best undefeated prospect/contender?

The list is so bad that I couldn't even choose, sad, sad state HW is in. Hopefully Haye puts in a good fight against Wlad so we can see a rematch or a fight with Vitali, because besides Klit vs. Klit it's the only exciting fight at HW right now.

 

Gotta disagree. Helenius, Boystsov, Pulev and Glazkov are going to form an interesting core of guys.

I have to believe that Emmanuel Steward is going to make something out of Fury (why would he even be working for him if he didn't see the talent?)

Lets see how the Teddy Atlas resurrection of Povetkin goes.

I have no hope for Solis, but its possible that after Vitali murders him, he gets himself in shape for a second go around.

Finally, I still hold out hope for Deontay Wilder, even though he has to fill out.

I think its a good group, personally. And you never know if someone like Lebedev or Chakiev is going to come up from cruiser and join them, or if a few other guys like Price, Dallas, Towers, Gerber, Hammer, Pianeta, Ustinov, Abdulsalamov, Pala, or Charr figure out what they need to to be successful.

It sure as hell is more promising than most of the post Lewis era talent- Brewster, Ruiz, fading Byrd, Chambers, etc.

I think those 2 have some legit promise.

 

Helenius is a guy to watch! His right hand is amazing. It is VERY powerful and he has amazing timing especially with that right hand. And his style is difficult for everyone to handle. I think he is champ in making!

Gotta love Pala. If Boytsov picks up a belt, then he has a natural in to a title shot- he can call unfinished business from their previous fight.

As for Abdulsalamov, I don't mean to disrespect him by lumping him in with the rest, but its hard for me to gauge his ability when his bet opponent so far has been Ochieng. He is defiantely taking a more traditional move up the ladder than Pulev and Helenius.

 

Based on recent form, Helenius is looking better than Solis and Povetkin.

And that's true! Sauerland tried to get him against Helenius to Abraham-Froch undercard but that was what he said..

 

Povetkin and Boystov, by quite a margin.

Solis, forget it........ The rest not worth mentioning. ALthough I've not seen Helenius, so I can't comment on him.

 

Is Mike Perez undefeated?

 

I'd go for Pulev myself. Povetkin is probably the highest rated out of all of them right now, but he's going backwards and looks a shadow of the fighter he did a couple of years ago, who I never felt could beat either Klitschko either. Now he definitely doesn't and he'd struggle with other fights and he'd lose a few elsewhere if he carries on with this new found outboxer style and his current form. Solis doesn't look capable either now.

 

Povetkin? WTF?

 

Yes, and he's the first person I thought of also.

 

Saw Tyson Fury in Wlads last camp since Tyson works with Emauel. This guy wth a little work will be right there. I was impressed with him... still green but Emanuel is working hard with him and tyson is very willing and wants to learn... was even asking the right questions about nutrition.
