5:00 - what the f*"ck is Haye talking about that people will remember him for fighting Valuev. Real boxing fans know that was an easy fight for Haye (which he arguably lost). It was one of the most boring and disappointing fights of the year. Valuev was a cherry picked opponent who had pretty much lost to an ancient Evander Holyfield in his last fight. If Haye retires without fighting a Klit. will be remembered as the guy that made a load of noise, wore distasteful T-shirts and then basically ducked them while he made a load of money taking easy fights. Haye needs to fight a Klit or he will be remembered as a fraud, and a coward. Straight up.
I totally agree with you. Current evidence shows that Haye is all talk, and has no interest in fighting either Klitschko. He is essentially lying to us, and making out like he wants to fight them. There will be an excuse or reason why the fights never happen, and then Haye will retire in October 2011 claiming that the negotiations broke down and they needed the fight more than he did etc. etc. :-(
Vitali fought and beat Herbie Hide in pretty impressive fashion, a similar fighter to Haye. After Haye loses to Wlad his career will be looked back on in years to come the same way Hide's is now
I think Vitali has shown a greater ability to adapt than Wlad has. I've never seen Wlad perform well in a tough fight. (besides Peter, but Peter is a pushover) With Manny Steward, though, he may have that ability. I'd have to see it to believe it. (I think Haye loses to both fighters, though)
Haye is a shrewder businessman so he will probably avoid the same fate, but he would have been knocked out by Riddick Bowe and Vitali (from '98) in much the same way that Hide was.
Haye is running his career like a business now. On that front, you have to say that he's doing a GREAT job.
I think Vitali is the easier fight at the minute to be honest (not saying that he's an easy fight) but he looks to be on the decline now going on his last few fights. I don't think there's too much left in Vitali any more.
that *** been singing that same ole song for several years now!! that he going to knock out the k brother!! I wish that can give us a present this christmas, and just retire now!!
Well, Haye isn`t stupid. Only his constant blah blah blah is keeping him alive as a heavyweight today! If he fought a Klit 2 years ago or later, he would just have been another name on Wlads or Vitalis resume!
The only possible way that Haye could beat vitali is by way of Vitali being old. Haye has absolutley nothing for Vitali.
I agree, I have a feeling Haye is talking back and forth between wanting the Klitschkos and then saying how he doesn't want them, then he wants Vitali and next time he says he really wants Wlad. And in between all the talking he does what he does best - beat up some 40 year old bums for 14.95 on Brit PPV. The Brits love it and Haye has an easy night. What's not to like for him?
Call me cynical, and I am a fan of VK, but Haye's decision to take on Wlad first, would suggest its a buisness decision where by he knows VK is a better fighter than Wlad, so wont take him on first, cause VK has a higher % chance of taking away one of two potential pay days, should he get knocked out against the first brother he faces, only I dont know how much of it is buisness, and how much of it is Haye waiting for VK to deteriorate, as though to enhance his chances of winning, although being skeptical, im inclined to think its more! so the latter than the former, which is odd, because that means any win over VK could potentially be marginalized due to that fact.
Yeah Haye has even admitted that Vitali is the better and stronger fighter, but its Wlad he wants to go for first.... But im pretty confident that Haye cant beat them both. G
