From what i hear the Rigo fight is nearly dead in the water,Looks like Kiko in March would that have enough clout outside Limerick to fill a 5,000 seater stadium??

I think the Kiko fight would have more appeal for the passive fan. Kiko is a name over here- people can make Dunne comparisons too. Id say that would have to be a sell out.

Willie Casey secures World Title fight in March 2011

Dolphil Promotions are delighted to reveal that a deal has been struck between both Guillermo Rigondeux’s manager Gary Hyde, Top Rank Promotions and Dolphil Promotions for the proposed World Title fight between EBU Champion Willie Casey and WBA intrim World Champion Guillermo Rigondeaux.
The fight is scheduled for March 2011 and is now likely to be held in Dublin rather then Cork, as previously stated.
“The deal is in place, Ireland can now prepare itself for one of the greatest fights ever held over here. You have a two-time Olympic Gold medallist and WBA World Champion against Ireland’s ‘Cinderella man’- a man who has beaten all the odds to get to where he is now. We are delighted that it's going ahead and also that it will be held here in Ireland” said Daniel Halpin
For Casey the fairytale looks set to continue now with Dolphil Promotions astonishingly having secured a World Title fight for him after just 11 professional fights.
Rigondeaux holds the World Title, the same belt captured by Bernard Dunne in Dublin’s O2. The Cuban hotshot, nicknamed El Jackel claimed the title on the undercard of Manny Pacquiaov v Antonio Margarito in Dallas last month by beating Ricardo Cordoba on points in front of 60,000 spectators.
The Cuban Super-Bantamweight is pleased a deal has been struck and is relishing his chance to fight in Ireland.
“I am very happy to bring my World Title to Ireland, the same place where I won my first World Amateur title. I have watched Casey and I believe this will be a tough fight, he fights with passion and a lot of courage but I believe I will remain champion after this fight.”
Dolphil Promotions on the other hand have other plans and firmly believe that Willie Casey will beat Rigondeux and become Ireland’s next world champion.
“We are confident Willie will beat the Cuban, otherwise we wouldn’t put him in with him. We have said it time and time again that Willie is good enough to fight any of them at his weight. This is a great story in tough times- lets get the whole country behind Willie Casey”. Said an upbeat Don O’Leary
After just two years in the pro game Ireland’s Cinderella Man is now one fight away from being crowned the new WBA Champion. This amazing story which began in 2008 is sure to capture the imagination of the Irish public. Having won both the Prizefighter trophy and the European Title this year the Limerick native now stands ready for a fight with one of the greatest amateur boxers of all time.
“I’m delighted and very grateful that after such a short career I have got all these opportunities. As I have shown so far the bigger these occasions get the better I will get. Ireland has been waiting a while for their next world champion and I am ready to keep that belt here in Ireland”
Casey continued “ He was a very technical amateur, it will be up to me to stop him doing what he does best which I am confident of doing”.

Ticket information for this fight will be announced in a fortnights time

Yeah the guy that beat Poonsawat has Dunne's old title. No doubt the public will be fooled into thinking this is a world title fight.
