    Round 1

Ismailov grunts behind a forceful jab, but Hernandez uses his height to pull back and make him fall short before responding with a light precipitation of counters, favoring the 1-2. Ismailov waves his fists in front of his face trying to ensnare the busy jab of Hernandez and keep it from touching him. Hernandez lands a very nice left uppercut to the body and Ismailov is hurt badly, stumbling backwards until Hernandez follows up with a southpaw 1-2 and puts Ismailov through the ropes!!!!

    KO1

Hopefully a GIF or Youtube clip of that knockout shows up soon so anyone who missed it can see.

Ali Ismailov did a backstroke, headfirst, through the bottom two ropes and landed flat on his back on the ring apron (which was particularly wide and extended a good foot or more past the ropes themselves. He just lay there while he was counted out, but not out cold. He had his neck bent up staring back into the ring with this "WTF just happened??" expression.

Anyone who's lost to Wayne Braithwaite should be looked upon with some skepticism...but that was almost three years ago now and Yoan Pablo Hernandez is looking very good. His defense and counter-punching before the KO were incredibly tight. Ismailov may not have landed clean once.

Did anyone have any idea Povetkin was fighting today? I didn't know until yesterday when I saw his goofy mop top in the weigh in pictures. Guess I should bring back my WAR Teddy avatar for this.
