.....I thought he recounted and had 115-113 Simpson.

Wouldn't be surprised though mate... He's on way to winning Hugger of the Year for a whole nation.

It didn't look like there was anything wrong with him on the night, didn't tire badly, didn't look weak but simply looked to have been beaten by the better fighter.

    Nah, don't buy it.

If Lindsay really had the flu he'd have been beaten up and stopped inside six rounds.

There'd be a certain level of fighter he could beat having had the flu a couple of weeks out, but Simpson is way above that.

No excuses, he lost to the better man on the night. Hopefully there's a return in 2011.

i thought lindsay won the fight also... as did respected journalist david kelly of the belfast telegragh... he scored the fight 7-5 to lindsay... you lads are mistaking good sportmanship on the irish side as being an acceptance of defeat...but good luck to simpson in the future and i hope he gets his revenge on smith and all that... but imo he didnt win the fight

I'll bet no respected journalists from the Glasgae Telegraph scored it to Lindsay tho ;)

i can tell you this mate... opinion was divided at ringside and a lot of simpsons punches were blocked by lindsay... but the fight could have went either way truth be told.... i went home and watched it twice ....once with the biased commentary of jim watt on... the second time with the sound off... when i had the sound off and drew my own conclusions to the fight ... i still thought lindsay won.... commentary on these fights sway people and thats a fact:deal

but i came on here not to argue that lindsay was robbed or anything like that... but to let you lads know quite a lot here in ireland thought lindsay won... so dont be under any illusions :deal

It's amazing that after a loss or a crap performance the excuses always come out.

Ricky Hatton used to do it, now Macklin and Lindsay.

If he wasn't right he should have pulled out :yep

Actually I didnt - maybe I should score every fight against the Irish fighter just so inbred ******s like you can stop banging on about national bias - this place would be a mess if Irish fight fans pulled English fans up any time they said anything remotely positive about an English fighter!

You really shouldn't come on and dis credit the fight mate with saying Lindsay had the flu etc, he wa simply beaten by the better and more hungrier fighter on the night, with or without flu i feel the result would be the same anyway!!

How some people can say Lindsay won the fight is totally beyond me, Simpson won it by 3-4 rounds in my eyes and Linday wa struggling to take any of John's body punches and kept backing off, John bossed the majority of the fight and i'm over the moon he finally got a decision off the judges ;)

We've got a rematch next year so we'll see what excues comes out after John does the business again.
