'So I guess anyone having Pacquaio in their top 10 lists already had Margarito and Clottey in their top10 because what else has Pacquaio done in the last yeat?'.

2 years ago Pavlik was top10 P4P and he beat him, about 3years ago Calzaghe was top10 and many thought he deserved the win. Also Hopkins hasn't lost clearly since he was P4P number 1 for many

    Erm....no.

He hasn't won a meaningful fight for over two years.

Earning a draw against Jean Pascal doesn't change that.

considering, that he for many rds outclassed pascal and certainly would do same with dawson I would say yes.

also the p4p list from 7-10 isn't that strong with ward (gift desc. vs bika), cotto (2 big loses vs pac and marga in the last few years), wk (so limited in boxing only throwing jabs or crosses and not fighting haye).

so, it isn't like the second half of the p4p list is full of great fighters.

where did you have Margarito/Clottey in your p4p rankings before the Pacquaio fight?

and where did you have Daniel Santos in your p4p rankings before that fight?

    Same ******ed logic :yep

Absolutely imo. He was top 3 p4p only a couple years ago and has only lost a SD to Joe since. His quality off opposition hasnt been spectacular, but I still think hes 6 or 7. I also think he just put himself back at #1 at light heavyweight.

you have to consider the phenominal run of wins pacman has put together, jumping through many different weights. hopkins has only one meaningful win since he lost to calzaghe and that was against american hypejob pavlik.

who has pascal beaten in his entire career? just one american hypejob called chad dawson. so why would a draw with a b-level fighter like pascal be enough for hopkins to jump back into the p4p charts?

that would be the same logic as the dumb ***gotts placing andre ward in their top 10 p4p? on the back of what? one hometown headbutted win over kessler and an appalling performance against a gatekeeper like bika?

i want to know where the poster had pascal in his p4p rankings before the fight?

and i want to know where he had carl froch in his p4p rankings after a clear victory over pascal on top of wins against dirrel, taylor, abrahams, and a razor thin loss to kessler away from home.

I haven't seen the fight yet, but if I score it to Hopkins clearly, then yes. He will have proven himself to be a better fighter than Pascal who was probably in the lower end of the top 10. To all those who would say no, could you compile a list of 10 boxers clearly better than him? Beyond Manny, Floyd, Martinez and Wlad there is a dirth of talent. The likes of Donaire and Montiel are probably the next in line, and then you are basically padding out the rest of the top 10 with the likes of Ward/Froch/Bradley/JuanMa/Cotto etc or whoever you choose. It's not like we are spoilt for choice nowadays.

    :good

He was prior to the fight in the top 10, so he is still there.

Yeah maybe equal 10th with Pascal and lower than Froch who is about 8th.

    What?

I think you'll find he's had a couple of good wins since those and his initial entry into the p4p list wasn't on the back of a draw.

A draw doesn't put someone into the p4p list so no Hopkins is not in it.

People have short memories, hell the RJJ fight alone flushed BHop well out of the p4p rankings.
I sat down with a couple of friends who are boxing casuals that night and was embarrassed that the guy on tv was one of the top 10 in my sport.

Froch isn't even top 10 after the opposition he's faced his last 5 fights so sure as damn it BHop isn't after a disgraceful display vs RJJ and a draw against a guy Froch beat easily.

You know what's funny? Calling someone a hypejob when they were the undisputed lineal middleweight champion. **** off buttbanger.
