Okay, folks... You be the deciding voters...:yep Question: Its pretty basic here. "What fight consisted of the bigger robbery, was it "B-Hops vs. Jean Pascal" or the 1989 rematch between "Ray Leonard vs. Tommy Hearns?" :huh What decision rendered was more so scandalous?:deal MR.BILL:yikes
Too many whinging sissys here that got some warped sense of reality. I guess a close call fight is a robbery these days. Let's all every close fight a robbery from now on.
It wasn't that close a fight. The 45 veteran threw and landed almost double the punches of the champion. The only thing that coloured the decision were the two flash knockdowns. Other than that Hopkin's schooled Pascal for almost 12 rounds. It was a shame he didn't get the nod but he won the fight and the event.
Funny thing is, I predicted the draw being rendered moments after "Leonard-Hearns 2" concluded in front of a group of people... I figured since Vegas had already arranged to have SRL meet Roberto Duran for the third time in the late fall of '89, Vegas judges weren't gonna screw that date up... However, yes, the draw rendered in 1989 was dubious... MR.BILL
I'd like to see scorecards for both fights before posters start making judgements like this :deal I had Hopkins up by two points, but never scored Leonard/Hearns II. Even though Hearns knocked him down twice, I didn't score the fight, so I can't give a fair assesment.
Hearns CLEARLY won the Leonard fight, Great performance from Nard last night but nowhere near as bad a decision.
Yep - Hearns Clearly won the Leonard fight, knocked sugar ray down in the process and still got stiffed - thats how big a robbery it was , what happened last night was a generous draw in favour of the home town champ but not a blatant robbery.
Both were close. I actually agreed with the Leonard-Hearns draw, but thought Hopkins would have won a decision anywhere but Quebec.
