In this case Dawson is overrated, so are Tarver and Johnson and of course Adamek.

I have said it many many times.

Hopkins is the best fighter of our generation.

People forget that this guy has been fighting top fighters for years and who has ever been the underdog so many times in his big times and always come through?? I cant really think of anyone. He is so underappreciated.
I will admit it has to do with some of his lack luster fights which is what made me not like him much when i first started watching boxing 10 years ago. I like most new fans wanted to watch the all out brawls like Gatti-Ward Morales-Barrera. Once i got to appreciate the sport more though i saw that what Hopkins did in the ring was paint a master piece.

As big a fan of Hopkins as I am i was very reluctant to pick him on this one. My final prediction was as it happened that it would be a close fight where Hopkins would win about 8 rounds but he would get screwed in a decision. I didnt expect any KDs though so i guess it justifies the decision a little more. Its sad to say but Hopkins is probably only going to go downhill from here. His legs i did notice arent as strong and thats a sign of a fast decline.

By the way i bet on a Pascal decision. I knew they were never gonna give it to Hopkins. When i was cheering for Hopkins the whole fight my gf said
"WEll arent you gonna lose money if Hopkins wins?"
I told her it doesnt matter if he wins. That will make it all better but ima be really pissed if Pascal knocks him out!!

Anyone have this when they are betting against a guy they are a big fan of? Its kind of a win win. If your guy loses well you made money. If he wins well your guy won so that makes up for the loss.

I don´t see how Jones can be ranked after last night anymore. Before it, it was close for Jones. Now it´s close for Hopkins.

Roy Jones won titles from 160 - heavyweight which is more weight than Manny had spread his title wins over . Duran won titles from 135 - 160 . Manny has won titles from 110 - 147 which is 37 pounds . Hearns went from 147 to a bogus title at Cruiserweight against Nate Miller when he weighed 189 pounds. Thtas a jump of 42 pounds , more than Manny . Nobody in boxing history has done what Hopkins has , Hopkins is 46 years old and was robbed against a 28 year old fighter who had just beaten Dawson , a fighter who was on everyones pound for pound lists. George Foreman lost every round against Moorer until he knocked him out , there has never been a boxer in the history of the sport who has competed like Hopkins has post age 40 . Calzaghe , Tarver , Pavlik , Pascal as a post age 40 resume . Not one convincing loss after rising in weight at age 40 . Lets see Pac and Floyd fight bigger , younger fighters when they are are in their 40s . **** Mayweather is the young fighter picking on old ones ( Mosely , Marquez , etc) while Hops fights De La Hoya at a ludicrous 156 catchweight and still kayoed him . Lets match up Floyd v Hops at 168 . I'd pay to watch that .

Floyd is getting a deserved bad rep because he calls himself GOAT, which was a joke enough, and then he runs away from a guy barely over half his size, Manny Pacquiao.

    STFU ***GOTT

this is the only post you need ever read about the career of bernard hopkins. the following is irrefutable scientific fact :deal

here is bernard hopkins best 6 wins broken down, take away the smoke and mirrors, the hbo and ring magzaine brainwashing and this is what your left with

    trinidad
    prime weight = welterweight (147)
fought hopkins at middleweight (159)
trinidads record at middleweight or above from hopkins onwards = 2 wins / 3 defeats

    winky wright
prime weight - light middleweight (154)
fought hopkins at - 170 lbs
in 57 fights, the hopkins fight was the only fight that wright had weighed over 160 lbs (a full 10lbs difference) :rofl

    de la hoya
    prime weight - welterweight (147lbs)
fought hopkins at - middleweight (160lbs)
de la hoya only fought twice in his career at middleweight out of 45 fights -1 win / 1 loss - the win was a very debatable decision over eurobum felix sturm

    pavlik
prime weight - middleweight (160 lbs)
fought hopkins at - 170 lbs
in 34 fights pavlik had only fought 2 minnions at the beginning of his career at 169. all pavliks fights since hopkins have been at the 160 limit.

    tarver
    prime weight 175
great 2 weight jump from hopkins and his best win despite tarver being a b-level fighter and going 3 wins / 3 losses from hopkins onwards.

    johnson
prime weight -super mid / light heavy (162 to 175)
fought hopkins at - middleweight (160)
    johnsons record at 160 + from hopkins onwards - 19 wins / 14 defeats / 2 draws
the defeats have come against people of the level of ottke, woods, shieka, gonzales, harmon, branco, vanderpool, Kiwanuka, sosa :rofl

then throw in hopkins 4 defeats to the only top class fighters he ever fought at a fair weight (jones, calzaghe, and taylor twice) and then scraping a draw with a b-level carl froch victim and you get a true reflection of the career of bernard hopkins :deal

Floyd couldn't hold up to Hopkin's undergarments, let alone his legacy.

This is a man whose fearlessness is unfathomable. He took on a prime Pascal and fought him to a draw in PASCAL's HOMETOWN.

This is the type of guy who would take on a prime Ali at the age of 45 !
