Calzaghe wouldn't have lasted with Roach or Steward. You need to look beyond the surface, Calzaghe's main strength was that he went to a fight and adapted to different styles. He was an independent fighter, with his 'trainer' father being the perfect foil holding the pads and giving him support. It was his drive that made him a success.

Roach and Steward are more technical and Calzaghe, wouldn't have lasted with them. Fighters and trainers need a good understanding of each other to be successful. For every, Khan and Roach or Steward and Wladmir Klitschko there's a Naseem Hamed and Steward or Alex Arthur and Roach.

Btw, I don't get it when the OP talks about Calzaghe's legacy improving because Hopkins should have beaten Pascal. It's the same as saying Buster Douglas is an ATG because he beat Tyson.

STFU ******, hopkins ducked calzaghe in 2002 for a carear high payday and then when hopkins thought calzaghe was shot he summoned up the courage to fight joe only to get his ass kicked and then bent over and ****ed in round 10 :deal

did you even watch the fight. joe won souly on slapping with the inside of his gloves like a ***** (activity which if you look in the boxing regulations is an illegal punch) watch the fight again their was absolutly no beat down as you say. Your a fool for even saying that crap. Fans are amazing with some of the bs thay they will say. I'll give joe his credit he did win many fights but his resume is crap compared to hopkins and he won by split decision when hopkins was 43 years old. 36 year old hopkins and joe doesnt get out of the first round after that knock down that put him on his ass.

:lol::lol: what a giant turd of a post

calzaghe had the worst hand injuries in the sport, lost all his power, and had to slap and yet hopkins was scared to death to stay in the pocket and exchange with calzaghe, what does that tell you about hopkins? :deal

when did hopkins ever knock a world class fighter out in the 1st round?

when has calzaghe ever been properly hurt by anyone? never, every single time calzaghe has been knocked down, he has always come back and won the remainder of that round :deal

i can only put your disgracefull lack of knowledge down to the fact that you are a she-male that loves deep throating men :dead:dead:dead

Calzaghe rather retire and snort coke then rematch Hopkins. Hopkins clearly won the fight all the boxing writers and even BBC confirmed this.

He wanted no part of Froch, Bute, Ward, Dawson and Pascal, that's why he retired. Ward would give him a boxing lesson true story.

    or pascal or bute.

froch was just anoter so called unproven eurobum. the only legitimate fight was dawson and everyone knew that dawson was just another american hypejob who would be considered the new jeff lacy 10 years down the road.

Well said, if Calzaghe was American and Black, he would be considered top 5, because he is British and White, people down play him.

He was bloated, shot to pieces and beat the living daylights out of prime Hopkins, no wonder Hop ducked him in 02 when Calzaghe was still packing that 1 punch KO power, especially as Pascal exposed that fragile chin of Hops.:deal

:dealHopkins may just have found himself in a starring berth in the final installation of the acclaimed Glass Jaws Trilogy - 'Glass Jaws 3 - Once They Crack, The Don't Come Back'.

I will have to analyse his Chin further and speak to the producers, but it's looking more likely by the minute.:bbb
