    Consider yourself lucky.

Some of us are a few years ahead of the old warrior.

Monzon. The old man can still fight though, so who knows how it ends up.

Monzon's legacy is miles ahead of Hopkins' and will always remain so. How many middleweught defences did Hopkins make..25? Divide this by 3 to begin with, to account for the shitful current situation where there are loads of titles available. Then divide it by 3 again to account for the dilution of the quality of contenders available. Then divide it yet again by 3 simply because Monzon was by far the superior fighter :good

    Why thank you

p.s. Hopkins V Monzon head to head at their peaks results in Hopkins getting his head knocked off

Most of Greb's best achievements are above 160. Whitaker and Duran are often rated 1 and 2 at LW despite most of their best work being above LW

Anyway there isn't much between Monzon and Hopkins in MW resumes anyway when you actually examine the primeness of Monzon's best wins

I tent to interpret greates middleweight to mean:

"Greatest fighter who was able to make the middleweight limit for the better part of their career".

It is not entirely satisfactory, but it does get closer to the thrust of greatness.

As a pure middleweight,Monzon is superior. No ducking and one undisputed title at stake.Much tougher competition for Monzon.

Well, I don't give much credit to a guy because he got a draw against a crappy champ two divisions above and five years later, only after he was run out of the first division getting twice defeated by another less than stellar champion.

And the fact that the guy was above 40 for all of that is of course a non-factor. :good

Yes, he gets credit for being a good, old fighter, but he doesn't get more credit or a laxer set of criteria for excellence as a middle just because he was old.

What was the best we saw of a prime B-hop respective Monzon would you guys say? Tito/Mantequilla? What do you consider the best opposition they proved themselves against at MW?
