Fight of the Year? Nah, no way. It's not even top 20, or even fight of the month, but it still was a damn good fight though.

I watched it with French commentary because that's how much of a gentleman I am :bart

Did it look from ringside like Pascal was tiring quickly about halfway through the fight? I felt like he was but maybe the ringside view gave a different impression than camera.

I mean the fight I saw, with no understandable commentary (the guy sounded sedated too. Like he was reading the news rather than commenting on the fight. He never got excited.), Hopkins was seriously schooling Pascal. Throwing more, landing more, hurting Pascal more, and pushing the action.

I had it 115-111 Hopkins, but I resisted the urge to give mercy rounds to Pascal (I felt a few times that the round had surely gone to Pascal because he was doing better THAN HE HAD BEEN, but still I felt like Bernard was getting his way so I gave him the round.) I had rounds 5, 8, and 12 very close and I scored a round even (maybe the 5th, not sure).

So it's not hard for me to see how the fight could be scored for Pascal, especially at the event itself.

My question is did you feel like Pascal was winning the fight or just hanging onto his lead from the first 4 rounds? Because from what I saw, Hopkins absolutely dominated him from round 5 on.

I have a mate who went to the fight, also near the front. He hates Hopkins with a passion and is a Canadian Pascal fan and even he said he thought Hopkins edged it

I was at the fight too and thought Hopkins won 7 or 8 rounds at best, and because of the 2 knockdowns, 114-112 B-Hop or a draw is a fair decision IMO.

    :patsch

The ref was wrong to count 2 knockdown for Pascal and not count the knockdown for Hopkins. Anyway if you really think Pascal won lcearly, your case is helpless.

The furthest stretch of reality is that the draw is correct ... anyone scoring this fight for Pascal just needs to stop watching boxing all together and go enjoy UFC.

The 2 KDs were legit and Pascal didn't fall from a punch. Common now.. you can say you thought Hopkins won but don't butter it up with bull****.

And from where I was standing (near ringside) Pascal was landing the harder shot even when tired.

Hopkins has a glass throat. He got hit with one left hook and hit the deck in the third round :p

If the new definition of schooling means outworking then yes, B-Hop schooled Pascal.

Hopkins went three times to the canvas and was countered only 2 KDs, so that's not so unfair. Of course, Pascal was very lucky to have scored those KDs because Hopkins was not hurt at all, but when you go down after a punch, even if it's because the punch made you unbalanced (and not stunned), it's a KD.

It's not illegal when your opponent turns his head.

Legit my ass, 1 good punch and the other was behind the head, and Pascal was hit by a punch and decked. Without the super canadian ref, Hopkins win a UD. Pascal was the grandpa and Hopkins was the fresher, younger, better fighter.
