    funnily enough that fight happened just 7 or 8 months after robin reid beat lucian bute's last opponent ;)

    Nobody's claiming Brinkley is great either, just that he was Bute's mandatory and still one of the better fighters available. And not that I've seen the fight, but I heard it was a hometown decision.

    it was close, and reid was extremely dirty in it. brinkley looked pretty ****, although tbh i never caught any of his next fights until the bute one.

    Wow that sucks to hear. I was hoping he would fight one of the losers at least.

    Not sure I like the way this Tourney is going. The Winner of the S6 has to fight killers and be in wars. While Bute fights Miranda, Brinkley, McGee and Mendy.

    What makes you think that? The fact that Interbox told all the Montreal media that Mendy didn't belong in the same ring as Bute, threw Mendy's credibility out the window. There goes a good 10K chunk of people, attendance wise. Showtime will not pay out $6M for 3 fights, with the first and second being vs hardly top 15 material.

    You made me laugh with this post. What do you mean by unavailable...

    That means Pavlik is in desintox. That means Dirrell is still out of the game because of his problems, real or not. That means that Kessler said one month ago that his vision had not gone better.

    Anybody on the forum who hate so much should know that.

    Maybe you should call yourself luflazy.

    Bute won't fight Mendy. His coach said to a Canadian fan that Kessler-Bute could be next.

    BTW, I didn't go to the Bell center to see Bute-Brinkley and I won't go to see Magee. I'll go to a bar and spend money on 2 beers.

    It's not an exciting opponent for Bute. It's a tune-up fight.

    I made the thread so regular ESBers who aren't total fans of Bute would find the information without lurking every thread about Bute. :tired

    Anyway... I think this fight is a disappointment. I've followed Bute since his 8th pro fight against Tobela and I must say that I'm about to get off the train.

    Andrade X2, Zuniga, Joppy, Miranda, Brinkley and now Magee ?

    I hope Interbox doesn't make it a PPV or if they do at least charge something like 20 $ or I won't order it, which will be the first time I don't order a Bute's PPV.

    Bute is slowly getting old and I hope he won't follow the Calzaghe's route.

    Nonetheless, if Bute fights Froch/Dirrell/Ward/Kessler in his next fight after that I'll be back on board. But until then... :tired
