Also if you're going to put a shot Whitaker on the beaten list for Trinidad why not put on RJJ for Calzaghe?

Calzaghe is the better boxer, Tito got clearly schooled 3 times in his career, that never happened to Joe

Calzaghe already has a shot name there, Chris Eubank, but I will put Roy Jones there if you want.

Felix Trinidad, and it's not particularly close either.

    - Fought better fighters
    - Beat better fighters
    - Was an all-round better fighter
    - Won titles in more weight classes

    Tito all the way here.

All three guys who schooled him were way better than ANYONE Joe Calzaghe ever fought.

    :patsch

Prime Oscar at 147, prime Winky, prime B-Hop at 160 = SO SO much better than Calzaghe's best opponent (43 yr old past-prime B-Hop at 175)

If Eubank was so shot why did he go onto deserve a Cruser title after this?

Cause the title he won was in the cruiserweight division.

That's a stupid thing to say. I'm a monster Sweet Pea fan, and he was nowhere near as shot in 1999 as Jones was in 2009. Jones had been shot since about 2004-5, and hadn't won a fight vs a top 10 opponent in about 3-4 years. Whitaker beat prime Oscar (by my card) only 2 years prior to facing Tito.

And Whitaker put up a much better fight on the night than the corpse of Jones managed.

Winky Wright wasn't that great, Oscar wasn't that great, Hopkins was great. But no version of Hopkins is completely dominating and schooling Joe that easily

I mean FFS can you imagine any version of Calzaghe losing every round to Winky Wright? I can't even see a 175lb version of a Prime Wright beating an old Calzaghe

Tito as exciting as he was, was always fundamentally flawed as a boxer. If they were the same weight I see Calzaghe winning a wide decision over Tito, and I'm no great fan of Calzaghe

    1. Eubank's best win was Michael Watson and that came 7 years before he fought Calzaghe.

    2. Eubank retired in October 1995 after losing to Steve Collins, he came back 12 months later and did an exhibition bout in Egypt.

    3. Eubank was training to fight Mark Prince, at Light Heavyweight (not SMW), but then with 2 weeks to go opted to fight Calzaghe for the Vacant WBO SMW title after Collins decided to vacate it.

    4. Eubank was having exhibition bouts for 2 years after he came back from retirement in the Middle East.

    5. After the Calzaghe fight, Eubank went up two weight classes and lost twice to Carl Thompson. Carl Thompson was then defeated in his next fight.

Audley had a heavyweight title shot, that dont mean he wasnt shot/****. Come on man.

When I look back on Calzaghe's career i see only two decent wins, Kessler and Hopkins, Lacy before Calzaghe had never beaten an elite fighter and someone who i viewed as unskilled and stiff, he to this day still hasn't won a meaningful fight and looses everytime he steps up and now even to journeymen.

RJJ, what can i say Jones Jr. career was basically done after Tarver KO'ed him in that second fight, Calzaghe's win over Jones is meaningless, Calzaghe will always be remembered as a good fighter but he has never beaten a great fighter in their prime the two guys who he has beaten are HOF's but they were both 40 or over when he faced them and thats not a good look, no one else on Joe's resume will be remembered as an elite fighter, except maybe Kessler but lets face it Kessler won't be an ATG or HOF ever.
