He was not on that level but he had great boxing skills.

    Agree on the second part.

Ask 40 people who Kostya Tszyu is in either Australia or Russia.

I bet you get a different response to No one knowing who he is.

Every man and his Dog in Oz knows Kostya Tszyu and i bet its the same in Russia.

And i think i read in another post some where you said that if Kostya gets in first Ballot that means you might aswell put Clottey, Paulie M in the HOF.

Well i say this has either of them guys held a World Title for a total of 9 years and 8 months.
Has either of them fighters Unified there divisions.

Has either of them 2 fighters been ranked by Ring P4P number 3 for at least 1 and half years.

    The answer is NO

So why mention there ****ing names in the same breath as Tszyu.

Freddy your sounding more and more like a Hater and not a actual fan of Boxing.

Maybe you should bro and i like you stick to building Cars.

Cos those type of statements sound ****ing Stupid.

Oh and another Point i proved with full blown evidence and statistics how Kostya Tszyu's resume was far better than Aaron Pryors yet No one on here because you are all ****ing Haters proved me otherwise or said **** about Aaron Pryor being Hall of Fame worthy.

And Matthew Hatton. He compared Tszyu to Matthew Hatton.

Someone said it best earlier "it's a special kind of insanity".

no...neither fights hasn't done none of that cause their era is deep...unlike kostyas who has mitchells and judah as his best wins.....clottey in kostyas era would've looked like the 2nd coming of ray leonard and paulie would've looked like camacho :yep

why can't you guys just admit that his era and reign are ****en weak as hell....sort of how many **** on calzaghe before the lacy fight....just imagine if calzaghe would've retired a year before facing lacy.....

Hey, Kosta was injury prone and defended his title like once a year on average in those nine years and 8 months. Not that much of an achievement. Then when you take into consideration the level of comp..it leaves something to be desired.

But unifiying the titles at that Division probably gets him in alone.

The inactivity, The unavenged loss to Vince Phillips and weak level of comp doesn't do him any favors to a lot of people on this board.

exactly what i've been saying page after page....but these clowns just wanna put up the accomplishments without disecting the actual level of opposition :-(

unifying 140 on paper is pretty big news, but then again nobody ever stays there long enough to make it a "sizzling" division.....140 is where featherweights always end up past there prime, or is a stepping stone for lightweights that wanna move up to welters........i mean, for ****s sake look at his biggest wins....sharmba and judah

Yeah, I don't think he is a great fighter. I think he is a good fighter. The Vince Phillips defeat bothers me when looking at him and so does the injurys. He was injured for like 2 years straight and had Monster comp at that time. Kosta ended up losing 2 of 3 belts bc of the inactivity. Then just to keep the one he had, he had to fight Mitchell again.:dead

Had he not been injured he would have had a chance to prove his greatness.

true...his reign over 9yrs sounds great, but considering how many times he fought and "who" is what makes it weak....

Tszyu was a very, very good fighter. I think with the right opposition in front of him, he could have fitted out a great career.

Let's be honest, Mitchell and Judah were well below him in terms of ability and accomplishments and he could have beaten better fighters than either of them if given the opportunity.

He had his weaknesses though, and guys that could take his shot, had a high workrate and good inside fighting ability would always be hell for him, even if they weren't great fighters.

You just described Ben Tackie to a tee: granite chin, insane workrate and good inside fighting ability as Ricky Hatton found out.
Tszyu put on a boxing exhibition. Compare it to the life and death struggle of Ricky Hatton against the same opponent who was coming off losses to Tszyu and Mitchell.

Tszyu never wanted to fight in a "phone booth". If you got close he would tie up. He was incredibly strong in the clinch. Then an uppercut or a right/left from the clinch.

He could also fight off the back foot even though he was better going forward. Hector Lopez, Ben Tackie, Ruelas etc.

I would have been describing Ben Tackie if I said :

"He had his weaknesses though, and guys that could take his shot, had a high workrate and good inside fighting ability would always be hell for him, even if they were shithouse."

    :good
