Definetely Brian Magee, I can't see Bute getting past him, he's far too skilled for Bute. I think this is a step too far for Lucian, Magee TKO inside 2 rounds, ending Bute's unbeated run in style.

Does Andre Ward ever leave Oakland?

Bute draws 16000+ people to his fights, up to a ~23K people filled Bell Centre.

Bute-Magee tickets went on sale today @ Bell Centre, and people are selling some average ones for upwards of $160 on the Canadian craigslist (kijiji).

Bute-Pascal @ Olympic Stadium (Mtl) could draw more than 30 000 ppl.

"We want to bring Lucian to Madison Square Garden. He's going to face the biggest names in the division." - Stephan Larouche, Nov '09.

Find him an opponent that draws well, and the man gets out of Canada for the big fight. Until then, and since he's got a huge fanbase in Quebec, STFU.

The Bute-Magee announcement was a 15 sec feature on TSN's Sportscentre tonight. How many people know his name in the States again?!?? Money talks. :hey

He will be facing Dirrell first IMO. Showtime let Dirrell get out for this reason and seeing how they inked Bute, this looks to be gettin real interesting.

My prediction is that Dirrell and Bute will fight in march, against different opponents coinciding with the S6 Semifinal and then fight eachother in late fall or early winter, coinciding with the S6 final. This will set up a final showdown between the S6 winner and either Bute or Dirrell. They want to make money off the Dirrell vs Ward storyline IMO and if that bute spoils that, having a win over Dirrell will really help his case for deserving to fight the S6 winner for the number one spot at SMW.

That being said, I think Dirrell schools Bute and possibly stops him late.

Magee was able to KD Jimenez, Joe wasn't. The fights happened 4 months from each other, Magee was 17-0 and Joe was 33-0. Jimenez was penalized for a headbutt vs Joe, which made the decision wider by 1 pt for Joe vs Magee. Joe never fought Magee. Magee just beat Larsen, who lost a very close MD to OTTKE of all ****s.

    See, different perspective.

Just watched the whole Froch-Magee fight.

Magee puts a lot of pressure, explodes with straight lefts and a couple of hooks, clinches, retreats, reapplies. Gets hit by Froch's jab like a ***** who wants some more.

The jab he throws sometimes is a hopping jab. Being a lefty, that's a shiny target for Bute's liver punch. Might see Bute KO4-5.

i honestly dont see bute getting beat @ 168, i think when he moves up in weight is when we may see his first loss, i just think @ 168 he has too many physical advantages, good skills and a few tricks up his sleeve to get beat at 168.

i think when he moves up in weight he losses some of those advantages, but i think a martinez/bute fight @ catch weight would be interesting, and the speed and energy might be too much for bute, but who knows...

Hopkins refused three offers from Bute.

He claimed before Miranda fight he`ll make Bute a Canadian Pavlik. After the fight we didn`t here a word from him. Toney `lights out` said after that night that he`ll prefere now a Pavlik second fight.(who just have lost).:smooch

    Move up to fight who?

Pascal, Dawson and Hopkins are tied together for a couple of fights.

Cloud? He would move up only for Cloud?

The SMW division is by far the deepest.
