Marquez isnt getting the Pac III fight, thats pretty much a given.

How do you think a fight with him and Khan would play out at 140?

Khan has pretty good stamina and his chin is better than we thought but his defense is horrible. I dont think JMM can knock him out if Madina cant and I dont see Khan tiring that easy like Katsidis, but at the same time his defense is so wide open and JMM is smart, he should be able to close the distance and stay on the inside where Khan cant use his reach/speed advantage and Khan has no inside game.

How do you think it would play out?

I wouldn't say his defense is horrible. His defense is leaky on the inside, but how many shots did he take in the 1st 9 rounds before Maidana's big moment came? Not many.

Khan wins this, he is a badstyle matchup for marquez, marquez needs to stop daydreaming, go fight that unification bout at 135, be great there.

Khan with a very good chance of TKO'ing JMM.

Khan is just too big and quick for JMM. Khan is at his best against other boxers and without pressure to keep him off balance his rhythm is going to be harder for JMM to time than it was for him to timing a weight-drained Pac at 130.

    King Khan by late TKO.

I used to think Marquez was badly out-sped in this fight, but after seeing how Maidana was able to time him, I'm not so sure anymore. Khan put on a great performance, don't get me wrong, but Marquez can take a good amount of punishment, and Khan kind of fights in predictable bursts. They're fast as hell and dangerous, but if Marquez can survive early I think he will start to time Khan, whose upper body movement is lacking. I would still favor Khan in this fight due to weight, age, and athleticism, but Marquez in my opinion has the ability to time a shot Khan doesn't see coming, like a combination finished with an out-of-visual-range uppercut, that could make Khan wary and cautions enough for Marquez to time him easier and easier as he comes in, winning enough rounds for a decision. I hope Marquez fights someone else at 140 first though.

Do you remember the first 40 seconds of the first round? The first two haye-makers Maidana throws, land flush on Khan's face . The dude's got alot of work to do on his defence.

i dont see this fight going well for khan. i can see him initiating the first 4-5 rounds and probably winning all of them. however in the middle rounds i see JMM landing a counter shot which puts khan on the back foot and wobbly at the legs i then see JMM finishing landing .

    JMM TKO 6

A good fight for Khan, and a great name for his resume.

Khan wins by a close but clear UD thanks to his age and athleticism (as well as him being more comfortable at 140lbs)... but JMM's heart and experience keep him in the fight until the end.

    How's that?

You should go look at how many flush shots Khan took from Maidana in round 10. It really wasn't the one punch.

His chin is fine. JMM's power would not concern Khan in one bit, in my opinion.

Only would his combinations (if he get's in range) worry me, but Khan's height and reach advantage is too much. He'd pick Marquez apart for the first 6 rounds with the jab.

First they break down the hook that dropped Maidana. They say Khan throws a weird half-jab/half-hook left hand with his long arm to make Maidana raise his guard, then bang to the right and then the left on the body. Marquez praises Maidana for his bravery beating the count still in pain since it is rare a fighter gets up from a liver shot, and it shows his great physical conditioning also. They talk about the overhand right that hurt Khan, and JMM says there's no real way to break down or give instruction on such a hook since it's unconventional and wide, and that he was aiming to throw it over Khan's guard.

Can someone do a word for word translation for this?

I mean, you don't often see someone on Marquez's caliber analyzing a fight with fighters that may very well become his opponents in the future.

    INSANE find :good
