Even Calzaghe fanatics must now admit him or Hopkins isn't even a debate anymore?

Fighting a severely shot Roy Jones, instead of fighting Dawson is also highly questionable.....

how could you possibly see a re-match in cardiff going any other way than a calzaghe win?

    - massive home crowd going crazy after every calzaghe slap
    - calzaghe's body better adapted to light heavyweight
    - neutral referee
    - neutral judges

why would calzaghe want to take his last fight against a man who was scared to death to stand in the pockett and trade with him and would just spend 12 rounds hugging him, headbutting him, and feigning injury.

Are you just joking trolling about or you really here to talk some prizefighting? Easy fights for easy money always get made.....something definitely wasn't easy about this fight for Joe........an easy fight, infront of the welsh for a ton of money who wouldn't take that fight??

that i agree is questionable but maybe there were real reasons

money? - joes last fight, how much money would he earn from fighting chad dawson at the time and how much did he earn from fighting roy jones.

also, despite the ridiculous over hyping of chad dawson by people who knew **** all about boxing, maybe they saw through dawson as another hypejob like lacy, maybe the prestige and glitz of roy jones alongside the much bigger payday were the reason. maybe it was the money, an easy nights work, and joe fighting one of his heroes that was the deciding factor?

who said it would be easy? no one gets an easy fight off hopkins. i'm just saying that that all the factors point towards calzaghe winning the re-match in cardiff.

Yeah and all the factors pointed towards a lopsided win against Roy Jones which he took.....anyways I respect your opinion for Joe Calzaghe he's a great fighter, and this is a debatable subject that will last for decades.

I find it funny that both Hopkins fans and Calzaghe fans fight tooth and nail to discredit both fighters resumes, but can only go so far because taking the other down too far degrades the value of their own fighter too much.

Take Hopkins down too far and 1 of JC's best wins is meaningless.

Take Calzaghe down too far and Hopkins lost to a bum.

    Round and round we go.

    Indeed.

This always happens though. Mayweather fans will always detract from Pacquiao and if Mayweather ever beats him, do you think they'll still have the opinion that "Cotto was washed up, Margarito was shot, Clottey was a bum" or will it then be "Cotto was a very good welter, who beat a good version of Mosley, Margarito's loss to Mosley is clouded byy many things and Clottey was a tough fight for anyone, therefore, Mayweather beating Pacquiao is a great win".

    It always happens.

Both Hopkins and Calzaghe have good records. Hopkins has a good few big names and Calzaghe beat good fighters too, whilst never losing.

I think we have encountered one of the most formidable debating talents of the modern age here. Epic ownage produced through a vast reservoir of knowledge, persuasive verve, and literary panache. :smoke

It seems every time I read one of your posts, I am taken aback at how much shite you talk. I think you're one of the worst posters on this forum. It's the fact that you're not a troll that makes it worse, you actually write lengthy posts and seem to believe you know boxing. FYI: You don't. At all. :-(

Hopkins definitely ranks higher historically, no doubt. Joe always beats him though.
