According to Dan Raphael the andy lee fight not going to happen and hbo is pushing for martinez to face dzinziruk, this eactually is a good fight if it happens, guy has a good strong jab and wonmt make it easy for martinez. WHat do you think about sergio vs sergei?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the WBC MW top 40 doesn't even include this guy. http://wbcboxing.com/indexEng.php This is a meaningless defence for Maravilla. Chavez Jr will never get there (wouldn't accept anyway), and Lemieux #2 vs Rubio #3 is an eliminator happening in March. "Last compulsory": Feb 09, vs Pavlik. I'll limp in with a prediction and say Lemieux-Martinez happens Fall 2011 as Maravilla's only mando of the year. And what a fight that would be. Edit: nevermind, that could be ****in Zbik........ ****.
I wont complain about it. Its better then fighting Lee. Sergei is not a bad fighter. Besides Martinez has been in the ring with Pavlik and PW twice. Give the man a break.
Sergio vs Sergei... Hmmm I've only seen Sergei fight only once, he looked like a solid technicly sound fighter. But I think Maravilla, with his awkward style will be too much for Dzinziruk to deal with. I don't know what kind of chin the Russian has, but against Martinez, it will get tested.
Thanks for the correction, didn't mean no offense. Good to hear he can take a shot, that will make the fight much more interesting. :good
sergio UD dzinziruk but it is not goin too be this easy. I see dzinziruk winning a lot of rounds based on his terrefic jab.
I offered a post about this very match-up awhile back! At the time, nobody seemed to care much about it. Those who believe that Sergio would be in for an easy night with the Razor are sadly mistaken. Speaking of Ukranian fighters, I was distraught to learn that Vasyl Lomachenko won't be venturing into the pro-ranks until after the 2012 Olympics. :-( He is, I believe, a once in a generation type fighter.
PW was only short night of work and vs pavlik he got punched not much, so therefore he has enough juice for another worldclass opponent.
Twenty four? Khan's a champ at 23, and I have always rated Vasyl more favorably. Had he turned pro after the last Olympics, he'd be a title holder already. He's that goddamn good. What do you think his ideal pro fighting weight will be??
