Hopefully, the Johnson-Froch fight will put Carl's career in perspective, as well as the upcoming Abraham -Ward fight will define Arthur.
Look for both of the Euro boys to lose badly. Abraham is so bad , he made Froch look like Willie Pep. Ward will use him for a punching bag , and Abrahams corner will throw in the towel to save his life.
Equally vicous will be the beating Johnson lays on Froch.
Froch and Abraham swagger around like super elite fighters, but they'll be reduced to fringe contender status after they take their respective beatings.

I think this fight will fall halfway between the AA & Pascal fights... Froch will have to deal with a guy who's (way) more willing to engage than AA, but at the same time technically better than Pascal. So to me, this is going to be a bit of a war where Froch will have to use his jab as often as he did in the AA fight, and might be forced to throw bombs like he did in the Pascal fight if Johnson tries to trade.

85% Froch UD (efficient use of the jab, wins occasional slugfests), 15% Johnson UD (moves better than ever, overhand right lands clean multiple times, rocks Froch hard at the end of most rounds) for me. No one goes down in this one.

Hey Boo, I doubt anybody makes a 'King AA drops Ward' thread. Good call on low/moderate interest for this one. :D

Johnson/Froch promises to be one of the most interesting fights of the tournament. I can see those chopping over hand rights landing on Carl's chin all night long. Froch is also easy to hit with a left hook, and Johnson has a good one.

I expect drozzy to now say who else could Bute fight :yep

Plenty of threads about that already. Where was Bute mentioned in this thread?

    I never said that. :patsch

Nobody is defending Froch strongly in that thread. You think Ward will beat his ass in the S6 finale?

    Theeeeeeeeeere it is.

Yes I do think Ward beats Froch in the s6 Finale, that's because I think with my head and without being a nuthugger, unlike some who think with their fighters balls in their mouths :hi:

Do you think Bute beats Ward, Dirrell, Kessler and Froch?

Nice, good on you. Let's see if you say the same in the prediction threads at that time. :hey

Why am I a nuthugger, if that's what you were implying here? Quote me anything I said about Bute in a subjective manner. :smoke

I think Kessler, if 100% healthy, takes his zero next summer. I think Dirrell has a better chance of outboxing him than Bute has a chance to corner him and be able to land lethal body shots from midrange. I think Froch gives him lots of trouble especially with the long jab and slugging accuracy, but Bute has better chances to win a UD IMO. I think it's 60/40 between him and Ward, but you probably already saw my H2H statement on that in the other thread. Just to make sure...

Spring '12 // Bute - what the hell, yes. Ward never fought, let alone beat a world class KO capable southpaw. Bute will have a strategy to counter Ward's inside game, i.e. well timed uppercuts with use of the jab to retreat... Ward will put constant pressure on Bute, probably will take advantage of his great handspeed. I see Bute winning by TKO if Ward spends most of his time trying to get inside as he'll eat uppercuts, or Bute UD if Ward takes a couple shots to the body and decides to box him on the outside. Ward wouldn't consistently throw 1-2's or triple jabs at midrange vs Bute. That's where Bute gauges you for an eventual liver shot. The only x-factor I give to Ward is the use of variation. Quick shots from the outside, jab-straight head first gets him inside, couple shots to the body, rinse & repeat over and over and over. I see this as a 60/40 Bute/Ward H2H matchup. Very intriguing.

Fair enough I agree with most of what you say, the thing I would say is Bute has been in his comfort zone for a long time and not really tested himself and could be in for a big shock once he takes on the best of the best.

Yep. His current/past schedule is certainly not that of a top 3 SMW.

Very hard for Canadian fans to accept he's starting the fight the best 168's in his thirties -he'll be 31 when he fights Kessler/Dirrell next summer/fall- compared to young Americans like Dirrell & Ward. Once he's there though... those fights could, I say could end up being SMW classics.

Did you know that Top Rank VP Carl Moretti told a Montreal radio station he thought Bute was "clearly, clearly the best SMW at the moment"?? I myself find his statement laughable. Let's speak again in one to one & half year, Carl.
