Zaghe aged quicker, clearly. They had a chance to fight years earlier an nard refused. I'm guessing you wouldn't want it too early-as in around the time RJJ handled nard easily- with a damaged hand. Nard was like nearly 30 and RJ took him back to school.

Joe had Hopkins figured out by the 3rd round. Hopkins would lose any rematch by a wide margin.

 

Calzaghe indeed beats all of B-Hops opponent (I am not sure in Tarver though), I also saw him winning against B-Hop. Still, prime for prime (2000 version of B-Hop) Hopkins would KTFO Calzaghe, I am pretty sure.

 

Hopkins is miles ahead of Calzaghe in ATG rankings and it isn't even close. They are levels apart.

 

I think a Prime Tarver could have beat Calzaghe.

The thing about Tarver, he fights with a great defense. And even though his fight style is basic, he uses his height and power to his maximum advantage and his jab was really good. Tarver makes you either try to make it an outside fight where he kills you with his jab or an inside fight where he shells up against effective shots and then blast you with his left hook when you open. Tarver had a real "meat and potatoes" style but it was very effective against some pretty good opposition. You look at Tarver's record and he beat some preety good opponents in his short time at pro, all of which while past his his prime.

thought it was pretty universal that in career ATG rankings Hopkins ranks higher than Calzaghe. not very close in my opinion. Hokins has fought better opposition, beaten better opposition and yet still continues to ad to his legacy.

 

I think the Kessler win is still a good one. He was a solid champ.

 

Kessler hasn't impressed anyone in a longtime and more and more the conscientious average fight fan is that he was more hype than anything else.
