Correct me if im wrong guys, but i just heard from a boxing fan that the bout between Devon Alexander and Tim Bradley is for Tim;s belt only. Meaning that if Devon loses he still keeps his belt?! Can someone confirm this for me please. I'm at work using my phone so it's hard to type this quick. Thanks.:bbb

Timmy refuses to pay the Sanctioning fee's for the WBC Belt, so yes, if Devon wins, he'll get the WBO Belt, but if Timmy wins, he'll only get the WBO belt.

He seems to have no interest in belts.

Its actually Sulieman refusing to sanction the fight because Bradley vacated there title before.

I doesn't really matter as we know that the winner will face Khan to confirm who's the King at 140lbs.

The belts won't make them the best, the fights alone will settle it for them.

    This :deal

Khan will fight the winner so we will have a solid number 1 anyway so it doesn't really make a difference. The loser may just fight Maidana for the vacant WBC which may not be a bad thing.

This is good. Fans should be careing less and less about belts in division where we know the score.

Sulaiman is a douche. The WBC said they won't sanction the fight because Bradley dumped the belt previously because he wouldn't defend against Alexander (then the mandatory) within 60 days after beating Kendall Holt. It was an unreasonable request by the WBC to begin with, and they're being unreasonable now. But it is what it is.

They are setting up Morales v Marquez for the vacant belt. Called this months ago. Only fight not to happen involving the modern day Fab Four [Pacquiao, Barrera, Morales, Marquez] and the chance to make one of them the first Mexican to win titles in 4 different weight divisions. It was always gonna be the WBC aswell obviously with their Mexican favouritism.

Exactly what I was about to say.

It's so blatant it's not even funny.

The IBF having stripped Alexander has become a non-entity in the 140lb division, if Bradley wins the WBC would have done the same.

Bradley/Alexander winner vs Khan is all that matters in this division.

    So the reasons are solid.
It's either for Marquez VS Morales. Or the loser fighting Maidana (maybe even Ortiz).
I hope its the latter. I really want Maidana to fight the loser and become a world champion. I know what your guys mentioned earlier about the Belts not meaning anything anymore, but its what he wanted for a long time. i just feel that Maidana deserves his spot and time as a world champion.

Exactly. Belts are worthless when we know ourselves who the top dog is.

Well if Bradley wins then it will probably be Alexander vs Maidana for the WBC (#3) LWW world title. if Alexander wins, the WBC won't saction Bradley vs Maidana (although I would like to see that fight)
