It was, and I'm still confused on how he can continue to do such and still none of his fans complain. So you believe all of his catchweight fights for titles won't be seen as anything great? Hmm.. Cotto, Margo and now Mosley? Big names on his resume that won't mean **** now...

I don't make blanket statements like that. Obviously not all catchweights are "equal" and I would never suggest that.

If Pac was doing this early in his career, you can bet your ass I'd complain. But all this...it's coming near the end when his legacy and major accomplishments are already set.

The ONLY thing that will change Pac's legacy would be a fight w/ Floyd or Martinez. Shane is just a money fight, as Roach stated.

It's, arguably, draining at 148 and 147, since Shane will have to drop 15 or so pounds to make weight in either case. But, the point is, if they are competing for a 154 lb belt, then just let Shane come in at the 154 lb limit, if he chooses. Or, if they are competing for a 147 lb belt, then just have him come in at 147. It would be hard to criticize either, as these are the division limits, and he has made both, in the last 6 months.

The names will mean what they are.

    Who cares about the titles?

So if it either of those are ok with you, why is it not ok for both fighters to decide to agree to a limit of 148 lbs? Or 150lbs, or whatever...

No one is saying that... its a stupid fight whatever weight its fought at, adding these other things just adds INSULT to INJURY.

We just making fun of how ******ed it is, that you get a 154 light middle weight titile at 150 an then defend it at 148... its just so disgraceful.... and people will eat it all up.

But whatever it was just a good laugh.

I think people just need to stop giving a **** about the title. It's those people who do give a **** who are eating it up.

To me, it's nothing more then a fight. :good

The disgraceful part is that there is any such thing as 'a light middleweight title' rather than 'the light middleweight title'. Once you have multiple 'world titles' per weight, you can't really demean them any more. But, lets consider that this particular one, the WBC Light Middleweight Title was held before Pacquiao for Sergio Martinez who reigned as champion for almost one year. Yet Sergio Martinez has never in his life fought for the WBC light middleweight title. How can you be champion for a year of a title that you've never fought for and never defended? And you think that this title is something to value and get precious about?

You yourself said it won't be regarded as anything great like SRL's win. So this one in particular won't be great, but his others are? :huh

PAC needs to fight at 147 or 154...preferably 147. Defending a 154 lb championship at 148 doesn't make a bit of sense at this time...he's already tested the waters and his body is acclimating to the higher weight so it should be easier to put on added muscle while retaining his speed, power and reflexes.

I did not say what was OK with me. I said if they fight at the division limits, there will be less criticism about C/W's and such. I don't need to qualify that statement, because, you already know it's true. Otherwise, we would not be having this discussion right now, would we?

That being said, unless Shane can't get lower than 148 lbs, comfortably, any longer, what is the point of the C/W? Who does it benefit? Not Shane...who has made both 147 and 154, in the past 6 months.

A lot of people... Including Pac, otherwise he'd fight at whatever weight and no title would be on the line. Why pay for the title if it means nothing?

Blanket statement again. Obviously titles mean different things at different points in a career and to different fighters. For some, it's a foot in the door. For others, it's an accomplishment a hero may have done as well.

Pac vs. Shane @ 148, just a fight.

    Fixed...

Pac vs. ODLH @ 147, "was just a fight".
