That plus the fact that Holyfield applied his own pressure to prevent him from setting up his combinations.

No doubt Tyson contributed to his own demise, but I don't think he would have had an easy time with any version of Holyfield.

    That's fair enough.
Different views, and neither of us can prove either way. There's no fact to be uncovered, it's just speculation.

All we can say for sure is that when they met past their primes, Holyfield beat the living **** out of Tyson and proved just about everyone wrong.

Yes he exposed Tyson for the shell of the fighter he became and then went back to proving it by struggling with just about everyone just as he did since 94

It is actually shocking to me to look at what Holyfield was like when he was trimmer and younger, theoretically you'd imagine he'd be much better than in the period where...he'd accepted reality and shaved his head but he was actually pretty raw. The Holmes fight springs to mind. Larry made him look quite silly at times.
Don Turner made a lot of improvements imho.

Holyfield had studied tyson since he was a crusier he was the men who his team trained to take the heavyweight title they have planned the gameplan and strategy, Holyfield knew that Tyson was no bum to play with it like "hey hit me you dont hurt me"

    This^

I've been hovering around the classic forum for a few months now and felt it was time to pop that cherry. I agree with lefthook 31 on this. I also believe that it was Holyfield's mission in the heavyweight division to be the man who would beat the man. He studied Tyson like a demon and wouldn't necessarily instigate the initial slugging with Tyson, but he would definitely get dragged into one, in my opinion.

As far as my introduction goes...I'm 33, reside in Pasadena, California and have been following boxing since spotting the Sports Illustrated that covered the first Leonard-Hearns fight. Nowhere near the level of expertise that some on here have, just looking forward to some spirited debates in the future. Cheers.

Is it worth debating with Foreman Hooks Spanish brother/allias ?

I love MT but I think Holy always gives him problems, however, I do think prime for prime MT takes this.
