Why isn't Bute making him an even better offer than Pascal did? They could both appear on Showtime, right? What's the problem here? Why is Bute fighting old never-has-been Magee? WTF?
Remember Hopkins entering the Pascal fight was the underdog he was an old man , age was chatching on him , Pascal could Ko him. If Bute won by ko or clear UD Hopkins was shot and the father time catch up with him. Even in a close decision for Bute ppl would've said Hopkins is shot and Bute is not such a good fighter because he had trouble with an old Hopkins. So Hopkins was a huge risk very low reword kind of fight... Not really want to take it when the Super6 winner is so close.
Ask yourself way didn't Showtime pushed for it. You don't know if Hopkins whanted to fight Bute either.I think he found Pascal more appealing.(bigger flaws and bigger name-LHW ring champion + he was at the same weight as him)
Because he wants to fight the mighty Brian Magee. Look at Bute's record: he has only fought Bika and Andrade. The others are all bums.
Heard Hopkind refused three times Bute. It seams Pascal appeared in terms of effort/reward much more affordable. (lineal champ + good style for Bhops to aproach). On the other hand Bhops coudnt`t afford a such a soon new fight. But if Kessler doesn`t come back in the summer and neither Pascal won`t fight Bhops, would be an opportunity.
Bute ain't ****. TBH, I don't know why anyone would want to fight Hopkins. The old man would just make you look bad or kick your ass.
It's a shame that in such a stacked division, none of Ward, Froch, Kessler, Dirrell, Abraham, Taylor or Johnson are currently available for him. Then there's Allan Green who probably doesn't want a 3rd consecutive loss and so probably wouldn't take the fight. Stieglitz turned down a unification as we know. Pavlik I doubt would want the fight at 168, he seems to be sure he can still make 160. I don't know about Sartison, is that not an option? Maybe he's another like Stieglitz who wants to sit at home defending his 'belt' against no-hopers. A 3rd fight with Andrade isn't interesting after the dominate knockout last time round. Renan St Juste might have been a decent fight in Canada but it's not really appealing world-wide and he's fighting Miranda anyway. A Bika rematch might have actually been the best way to go actually, and I wasn't a fan of that fight before given I thought Bute won a comfortable 9-3 the first time round. Sure Bika may have improved, but Bute has improved even more, although Bika's show against Ward might make it interesting for comparison. Even looking at 175 it's pretty bare at the moment.
Bhops was down twice with Pascal. If falls with bute he`ll never get up in time. That`s why appeaers Bhops refused three times Bute`s offer.
Because Hopkins just fought and when he'll be ready to fight again, Bute will be near a fight against one of the big names of the 168 division. Because also Hopkins won't accept a catchweight. Because he wants Pascal, who is by far easier for him, stamina and stylistically wise, than Bute. Hopkins is just not available.
Why not? Bute has a so much stamina and technique than Pascal, and more power. If Pascal has knocked Hopkins twice, what could happen against Bute? Your only point is your hate.
