As much as I was outraged when I understood Mayweather the cherry picker's gonna return vs. JMM at welterweight, I'm also expressing how disgusted I'm with Manny Pacquiao personally for taking on Shot Shane Mosley for the payday. Enough with the 'he's not calling he shots' bull**** because it's like saying an assassin 'just' does the kill, he doesn't choose the target - he still does the kill, doesn't he? Pacquiao brings the money and his signature makes any fight official, so he fights whoever he wants end of story. Disgusting! Fighters are delusional and of course Marquez and Mosley believe when they say they stand a chance and can pull it off, that kind of mentality is required to reach and stay on top, but that is the fighters undoing after a point. Holyfield still thinks he's gonna retire as the undisputed HW champ, Hopkins thinks he can beat David Haye and Roy Jones is looking to reclaim his P4P position, and the promoters/fighters are not gonna say otherwise if they can earn millions on their expense. Other than saying '**** you I don't care what you fans want', Manny Pacquiao is personally responsible for the permanent damage he'll likely to inflict on shot Mosley who was the World WW Champ earlier this year, don't get me wrong, but gassed and looked horrible after 4 rounds vs. Floyd, and took a hellatious beating. I don't even need to comment on the Mora fight, but just think for a minute what kind of punishment Pacquiao, a super fast, super busy, super accurate guy will put on vs. a shot fighter who's ready to be beaten to the punch all night. That's the easiest way to turn Shane into Freddie Roach, who also stayed in the game too long. Freddie needs a **** you too BTW, first he says Shane is shot and will be beaten badly, but now he's 'dangerous' - whatever it takes to get the money, right, Freddie? But at the end of the day Manny Pacquiao signs the contract and Manny Pacquiao takes on Shot Shane Mosley, and unless he's a dummy, he knows nobody wants this fight and knows the health risk involved - yet he still signs to take his millions. That's professional boxing some would point out and I can't argue with that, but as for me, that's the end of Pacquiao's credibility in my book. He could've chosen ANYONE in the world and still earn millions just a bit shorter than vs. now-Top Rank/self promoted Shot Shane, but he went with the most money. **** You Manny Pacquiao!
wth is with these people saying "the end of pacs credibility"... wth? seriously, theres not much of a different if he fought berto or marquez he still wont get that much credit.. and fcking dont tell me he should fight maravilla... its the time of pac's career that theres not much of a choice... and he chose not the best choice.. so what?
It's not a single fight but a series of them now. Nobody on Earth wanted Pac-Clottey, PPV and everyone was OUTRAGED when learned about the Margarito/LMW plans, on PPV, 24/7 just made it look like competitive - and now Pac-Mosley, on PPV? It's constant slap in the fans' face from the Filipino warrior we all fell in love with because he took on the best.
I won't repeat myself again, so I'll just copy and paste what I said in another thread: Only an erratic fan would let his respect for Pacquiao wash away as easily as that. He’s given us tremendous fights back to back, whilst exceeding all of our expectations in the process. This one awful choice of opponent does not, and should not, plunge Pacquiao into your bad-book if you’re a true fan of the sport. But yes, it is a hugely disappointing match-up and one that I would boycott it if it was a PPV here in the UK. But that’s all it is - a disappointment. I’ve still got more respect for Pacquiao than any other boxer, and that won’t change over one measly fight, which to be fair, will still probably turn out to be entertaining due to the two styles.
I think this is the Pacquiao PR campaign for this fight "He's not cherry picking the worst fight. You guys would still be complaining if he fought Sergio Martinez" Can you STOP with this. It's false. Marquez, Berto, Khan, Bradley, Williams, Martinez aren't Hall of Fame fights, but they're living breathing opponents
What are you talking about? Clottey and Margarito were just as bad cherry picks as this one. It's like 3 awful opponents in a row? Only the most casual fans think Margarito was a worthwhile fight Mosely is probably a better opponent than Margarito!
The actual issue here is, it's not his first poor, money fight. It's probably his 5th in his last 7 fights............. De la Hoya? Hatton? Margarito? Diaz? Mosely? They were all coming off losses (mostly to mayweather) and other than their names, finished in boxing.
To be honest I think pac is done with facing challenges and imrpoving his legacy he just wants to make some big money in his last fights. Him beating cotto was the last great thing he did. After that we got clottey, a floyd replacement and a good stay busy fight at 147 in my eyes. After that margarito at 150 was weird and a bit annoying but margarito really showed up in shape he just got beat straight up. If he now had taken on berto everyone would have been happy now witht his mosley fight it just continues the downhill trend he is on.
At least Mayweather admits he only fights for money rather than pretending to be some sort of 'people's champion' who fight for the 'fans'.
And that's exactly when people started to unleash hell on Mayweather. For Chrissakes, De La Hoya fought Hopkins, Mayweather and Pacquiao at the end of his career, yet he's considered some kind of joke/quitter.
If he had chosen Berto, you would have said he was too green, if he had chosen Marquez you would have said the same thing being shot, blown up WW, blah blah. Doesn't matter who he fights at this point if it's not ***** Mayweather. HE WILL NOT GET CREDIT FOR FIGHTING ANYONE ELSE. When will you ******s realise this.
