"Joe Calzaghe would beat prime Michael Spinks"- Max Kellerman

Yeah, he was a good fighter. Not great, but good.

 

Calzaghe is a more talented Ottke. He feasted on bums and old men his whole career. Froch's resume is better, although Calzaghe would beat Froch.

Spinks was a guy that fought at heavyweight. Calzaghe got hurt by ancient Hopkins and shot Jones at light heavy, you do the math. Spinks has too much for Calzaghe.

Nobody outside of hardcore boxing fans in the U.K know who Calzaghe is.

The only reason he is even talked about is because his fans are so delusional and make ridiculous comparisions like Joe vs SRR, Spinks, LaMotta and nonsense like that. And the people who actually KNOW boxing get so frustrated with these morons that we bother to entertain them with an argument. When the truth of the matter is that Joe was a GOOD fighter. Thats it! I think, nay, I know that if Spinks was in his prime and fighting today, we would not be having this discussion. The guy is truly one of the great LHW's.

 

Calzaghe would outbox and clearly beat Spinks.
Spinks would have just been another American name on Calzaghes win column, to go with Jones, Hopkins, Brewer, Lacy, Mitchell, Manfredo, Sheika etc

 

He also said Roy Jones would beat Joe Frazier, And use to call Zab Judah a better version of Pernell Whitaker(Even though Zab showed no defense)
