Thank You Thank You Thank You!!

What a historic piece of footage!! Theres too much to comment on, but it was incredible. Thank you Grant

My favorite was seeing Louis and Schmeling look at each other when asked about their fight as if it's an inside joke between them. And Robinson seemed to be in perfect condition in that video. The kind words exchanged by all the fighters is amazing

By the way, I also found radio segments for Joe Louis, but cannot play them. Can any of you play them?

Thanks for posting the link !! Really enjoyed watching the footage, like stepping back to another time. Ezzard Charles looked like he was showing a few symptoms of the motor neurone disease that took him 14 years later,a shame that he had to fight on too long.

Did you catch when they said Charles was wrestling now ? I never knew he had to do that ?

he, as I posted before I recall the Jack Dempsey segment of "This is Your Life". I also recall Mickey Walker's segment too, and the Joe Louis program
    of "This is Your Life".
I loved "This is Your Life". I never missed a segment. They were tearjerkers
for sure...But I am unable to retrieve them on the Archives. Oh well, I have my memories !

Yeah I caught that at the end and he kind of shuffled off the stage,if they had the medical technologies of nowadays he would have had to stop earlier instead of loosing alot of his last bouts. Probably the tax bill and bad investments like louis forced his hand. I dont know how far he took the wrestling though!!.

Very nice post. I came to this forum after Burt posted but his name crops up time and again and he is invariably spoken of with absolute reverence.

I can see why. When I read this, I imagined him to be AJ Liebling and have sought out some of his previous contributions which were great. I understand he is in poor health which is why I am addressing this in the third person but if you do read still, Burt, it's a pleasure to read the memories you shared as the forum's elder (and wiser) statesman.
