Ugh... this is in no way a 'boxing' event. It's pure entertainment for, unfortunately, quite a wide demographic. Footy heads etc...

Yes it's dressed as boxing, but boxing it aint!

I gave my opinion didnt I?

I think Main Event are targeting the cross over fans from footy....as a business proposal it may just work and they may get the numbers to make some cash.

Lets not mix up with labelling main event as Aussie Boxing....Main Event, Fox Sports are broadcasters and they Broadcast lots of sporting events.

I dont see this a some landmark aussie boxing event....its celebrity boxing

I dont know what all the fuss is about...I wont be paying the money for it but I will be going along to support a friend on the card :good

Plainly you're dancing around it Ash - trying not to offer your opinion on something related to BOXA.

It's advertised as BOXING mate - what is your opinon of this as a boxing card that people are being asked to pay PPV for?

    Very simple question mate.

....unless you are compromised in what you can and can't say of course.

if u wanna be a boxing fan in oz u just have to accept that its a ppv culture (where boxing is concerned). its just how the business side of it works in oz. its bs and weird and hard to get your head around but thats just the way it is.

Get over it guys. This is a great idea in a business sense. The potential audience is huge.

    1. Disenchanted league fans who want to see SBW get smashed.
    2. Your every day league fan who watches out of curiosity.
    3. Union fans who want to see how he goes in a boxing match.
    4. The ladies who want a perv.
    5. The boys who just want an excuse to go drinking at the pub.

    These number in the millions.

Compare this to a VIC or Kat card where the potential audience is

    1. Die hard boxing fans.

Who number not more than 30000.

    Go figure it out.

Just another VERY transparent attempt at not offering your opinion Ash - and you claim not to be a patsy for these guys!

Yeah while they are at it GI should go on the undercard.

He will earn more in 1 fight than a whole year playing league with their BS salary cap.

What does it do for Australian boxing though mate?

Where are the positives in this for the struggling local promotor, or the up and coming young fighter?

It's just another kick in the guts for them mate - simple as that!

i don't see how even the die-hard sonny bill fans could hand over their $50 for this.

they know he is fighting a bum and i just can't believe even they would pay for it.

even they can tell when they r being ripped off surely.

They probably did, but I had no idea who the **** he even was before he had his stab at boxing. I don't follow any football.

I didn't mind the fella in the ring, showed very good athleticism, good attitude, but obviously he's very green in the skills area. With the right trainer, I thought he had good potential.

But, with this kind of **** with a PPV with him as main event, leaves me very cold. :blood

Ok I will say what you want to hear so you can sleep better

.....I condemn BOXA and Main Event for putting on celebrity boxing....how dare they bring the sport into disrepute.

    Ok hows that?

Now you can happily go about your business of promoting the fight with another 300 posts leading up to the night
