Guy Jutras the WBA advisor is saying on french radio live now, when a fighter is pulling out is belt before a fight, there's no champion until the end of the fight.

Interesting comment I think, I saw a draw despite this, it was though as **** to score.

That's bull****, the champion should never get any special treatment in the scoring of a fight. Pascal has never even successfully defended his belt yet so even if this statement were true, he's not much of a champion.

Terrible logic. Close rounds should go to whomever the judge thinks won...even is by a hair.

he won't have a chance to give Hopkins a rematch because he is going to get the **** kicked out of him by Dawson, he is obligated to fight Dawson next, so it won't come to a rematch. I'm sure at that point Pascal would love a rematch but Hopkins wouldn't fight him if he didn't have a title or something of worth.

HOPKINS also said that after Calzaghe and Taylor fights. Fighters are the worst judges of their own fights. Boxing fans need to stop listening to post fight interviews and taking them at their word.

i believe close rounds are generally given to the favorite (right or wrong). that used to be the champion, but not so much nowadays

Well if there are rounds that are close enough to be considered almost even then I'd say Jean would be right...But there weren't any close rounds that could be scored for Jean other than the 1st 3 and even the 1st round Nard was winning before the knock down. Nard definitley should have won but the KD's made the fight closer than it actually was.

:good Exactly... It may be a pet peeve to phrase it that way buy that is basically what he is saying in different terms...

In other words if the ball does not clearly beat the runner then the runner is safe. Thats pretty straight forward...

    and 8

    basically, rounds 2, 4, 5, 8, 10, 12 were all close rounds.

the Canadian judge is the only judge that every round he gave, one of the two other judges had the same score.
