Why didn't Mike Tyson make the olympic team?

He was defeated by Henry tillman (whom won the Gold ) in the U.S. Olympic Boxoff finals.

 

Then later beat him in the pro's........

 

Apparently he was jobbed in the qualifiers because people in the US am program disliked Cus, but they all say that.

 

is that true? an honest question.

 

I lost to Henry Tillman twice in the US Qualifiers. I don't know the circumstances surrounding those defeats though.

 

Because of Cus D'Amato's approach to amateur boxing, they apparently said that Mike would only be able to compete in the heavyweight division, instead of the super-heavies. As pointed out, Tyson then lost to Tillman.

 

He lost to Tillman in the olympic trials then KTFO Tillman in the 1st where it all matters in the PROS!!

 

Imagine if Tyson competed in the Olympics?! not sure if he wins the gold but im sure he would have scored a number of KDs and KOs..Tyson was a fast on his feet and hands and already have KO power then.
