Ali knocked a lot of guys down, and out, and turned a few fights around with single punches. Sure, he arm-punch too much, slapped even, and I think he had really trouble with his hands, esp. in the 1970s. So, he certainly wasn't a consistent puncher, sometimes he was downright weak puncher.

But looking at Larry Holmes fights, he had a lot of fighters he couldn't get out of there too, he just wore them down. Snipes, for example. Weaver he floored with a great uppercut, but couldn't really find a finishing flurry, just had him worn out, another mercy stoppage.
I mean, who did he really show KO power against ?

The more I think about it, the more I think Walcott could pull off that win. If it goes the distance, I don't think Frazier wins. He'd have to stop Walcott, which of course is one of the more probable outcomes. It's either Walcott UD or Frazier TKO for me.

He beats them all badly except for Holmes and Tyson. Holmes' length, arsenal and heart would prove to be too much for Joe. Iron Mike was head and shoulders above Frazier athletically but Joe could and would weather the early storm AND break Tyson's spirit en route to a late round TKO...GREAT FIGHT!

i think joe takes them all. except louis, holmes and tyson. holmes and louis win by a close descision. and tyson KO's joe within 5 rounds.. mike being way way faster then joe and a fast starter (joe not) probably joe would get knocked down a few times and get up. but within 5 rounds it is over..

 

I'd make Frazier favourite over them all,except for Louis and Tyson. Larry Holmes would be a 50/50 one. Louis could catch Frazier early,before Joe has a chance to warm up,and the same goes for Tyson. I rank Frazier higher in an ATG list than Mike,but Frazier's slow starting would be tailor made for Iron Mike. If Joe is still standing after six rounds,though,he would be the victor. Holmes-Frazier could go either way. Larry over 12 and maybe Joe across the 15 round route. Very close.

I think Walcott would attack early like he did against Marciano, ripping fast uppercuts and hooks out of the gate. I think there is reasonable cause to question Frazier's durability or at least his sturdiness, he may not make it out of the early rounds. If he does, he might be able to grind out a tough decision.

 

Yes, and after he got up the first two times and kept coming, Tyson would start to unravel and get taken into the deep end where his stamina issues would come to the surface. One you start doubting yourself against a prime Frazier, it's just a matter of time.

 

I thought about picking Holyfield as well but I really can't see Evander hurting Joe at any point in the fight.
