Why did Ali never used a Body punch as an arsenal?

Just wondering? In his many fights that I saw, if I remember it right, I only saw him throw it once against an opponent I dont remember the name. Does anyone have an idea? He was really into a head-hunting thing.. serious question guys....

Because Ali was far from a complete textbook boxer.

Only way he was allowed to box or his fights wouldn't be sanctioned because he would wipe out everyone.

it probably wasn't his style to go low. to throw good body punches you have to set your feet and ali used to float like a bee

I dont think its about the textbook thing, he would have used it if he felt like it. Its something on his mind I think. But appreciate your opinion on this.

No, it is a matter of fact that Ali's skillset had holes. He couldn't block or parry. He backed up in straight lines. he threw no body punches. no inside fighting. his defense was his athleticism, and the evidence of that is when he slowed down how often he got tagged, and how badly.

Although he occasionally threw to the body, Ali most likely felt it would only cause hindrance to put emphasis on it. Throwing hooks to the opponents midsection would require distance to be shortened, and that's not where Ali wants to be.

You can see him jabbing to the body against Liston, and throwing some body shots against Williiams.

well Ali did do bodywork in the Williams fight and jabbed to the body in other fights as well. I don't think as a typical outside fighter he would get many chances to score to the body anyway.

Ali spanked him. Ali spanked everyone.

Let it go. Life's too short to be a miserable, biter ****.
