Could Pascal/Hopkins/Dawson wind up playing out like Perez/Mares/Agbeko?

Look at the parallel time lines:

Now...should the very plausible scenario 4A play out to complete the cycle, Pascal will find himself in the same position at Perez: on the outside looking in, without a title, and coming off a controversial draw and a loss.

With Perez due to face Darchinyan on the Mares-Agbeko undercard in a Showtime bantamweight tournament consolation match for an opportunity to finish in third place, he runs the risk of slipping even further from the mountaintop (going 0-2-1) and possibly even getting KTFO if his usually very good chin doesn't hold up.

If Pascal faces the next best available opposition outside the top three after losing to Dawson, there is a very good chance he'll be looking at a big puncher (ie Shumenov or Cloud). He too would run the risk of slipping further from the mountaintop (going 0-2-1) and possibly even getting KTFO if his usually very good chin doesn't hold up.

    Here's a question:

Who would want to see Perez down the line in a rematch with the winner of Mares-Agbeko? What if he was coming off a loss - or worse, a KO loss - to Darchinyan and going the hypothetical 0-2-1 above? Would he then seem undeserving?

Who would want to see him settle his business with the loser?

Who would want to see Pascal down the line in a rematch with the winner of Hopkins-Dawson? What if he was coming off a loss - or worse, a KO loss - and going the hypothetical 0-2-1 above? Would he then seem undeserving?

Who would want to see him settle his business with the loser?

Wait... You think Pascal-Dawson was closer than what the score card reflected?:think Maybe for the 108-111 (which was a mistake by the judge, he said he actually had it 117-112), but I think the 106-103 cards were right on the money.

I think a boring Dawson UD would only shock the Frenchies.

Yeah, I was specifically thinking of the 108-101. It was a mistake but didn't get corrected? :huh

What about Pascal and Tavoris Cloud? Somebody gets knocked out IMO.

Cloud is entirely to pedestrian to beat Pascal.

in my mind the logical move would be, cloud-dawson, and hopkins-pascal, and the winners face off in the finals, losers do what they want, either fight each other or go on their way.

this would be a great way to see some good match ups and it would unify the belts

Yep. The fight was stopped suddenly because of an unintentional headbutt and the judge got confused and gave the last round to Pascal. But after you give your score card, you can't change it...
