"I was home and I’m the champion, so every close round you have to give it to the champion." (Jean Pascal on the Hopkins fight. Article on ESB front page.)

I agree it was contreversial as ****, there'S no contreversial in Hopkins/Pascal fight tho. Just an epic fight with a sore loser that we will talk for ages.

Three of the last four major fights in Canada involved some sort of controversey that favored the Canadian fighter. I think the canucks have fallen prey to the Sauerland/Abraham/IBF/German pardigm.

This video has been posted multiple times... Bute was on his feet in time, and the clock (clearly to see in the vid) should have been on 0:04 or even 0:03 when he went down. Bute was just lucky, nothing more nothing less!
Can you imagine the outrage if the ref stopped the fight 8 seconds after the fight ended?

If your saying there was corruption in the Pascal-Hopkins fight, man up and say who exactly was corrupted, or STFU.

And honestly, you really think there was controversy in Pascal-Dawson? Come on, the cut was really nasty and I've seen fights get stopped for much less than that.

Why are you saying this Booradley ? Is this another "lets get people wired up" thread ?

    You can't be serious...

You're just feeding the little minds with this kind of thread Booradley. This is the kind of thread that becomes gospel for no valid reason...

You know very well people get robbed in the States all the time, like anywhere else.

Do you really think they were legitimate controversies in those last fights ? Do they really stand any ground ?

Actually even if he gets knocked the **** out, he could probably blame it on the fact that he was induced back into alcohol the night prior to the fight by the P4P top notch ***** that we have in Quebec. :hey

I'm sure that could easily qualify as another corrupt attempt by Canada to rob American fighters. :rasta

I've seen worse in the US.

The ending of the Bute/Andrade fight appeared shambolic, but ultimately had the correct outcome.

Don't overreact. Bad decisions happen everywhere, and I wouldn't really call Hopkins-Pascal a robbery due to the knockdown, even though the 1st one was BS. 114-112 is no robbery score. Martinez-Cintron draw - and not Martinez UD/KO/DQ - THAT's robbery.

...but lets make sure we keep a close watch on Canada cause if Shaeffer, Shaw, Dawson & Hopkins say it's corrupt, then it must surely be...

Germany has started taking notes right after the Pascal-Hopkins fight.

The pressure's now on Canada to find new ways to cheat...

I will only say this: if Froch believes that he can beat Ward in US is delusional. Americans before complaining watch in your own backyard!
