How about have the rematch in Philadelphia? Surely Bernard can sell tickets in his hometown.

So you don't believe B-Hop is popular enough to fill 16,000 seats?

Don't know actually... Never been a Hopkins fan myself, because I don't like his "crafty" fighting style at all. But seeïng how much Americans jump to his defence, I thought it may be different in the US.
And let's be honest, 16,000 isn't that much for a big fight, compared to "big sellers" like the K bro's, Pac, Floyd etc. who pack 50.000+ arena's.

Well, considering a hugely popular and active guy like Marquez - who's the king of his division and still very much relevant in the P4P rankings - can barely draw 5,000 people to his fights, I doubt Hopkins would be able to out-do him 3 times over.

I heard his numbers for the Jones Jr II fight were really small, too.

he isnt. its not a matter of opinion its a fact. even in his prime he couldnt shift more than 5000 tickets. for the Calzafghe fight which did 10,000 90% of that was British fans and the canadians wont travel. Hopkins has never been popular.

anyone that mentions the fight being in Philadelpha, Atlantic City, MSG, Vegas is dumb. Hopkins cannot sell tickets. even in his prime he couldn't sell tickets.

Bute should fight Hopkins. Pascal has had a go already.

gotta respect pascal, the 3 toughest fights he has had are froc, dawson nd hopkins. he wants to rematch all three, and has no problems travelling to do it.

    what a warrior.

as a footnote, hopkins should take this chance to fight cloud, make history, and then cement his place as a true ATG by unifying vs pascal/dawson

boxing is just far more popular as a spectator sport in other countries as boxing in the US outside of the major fights only appeals to the lower classes.

Like some posters already said, it's just an excuse not to fight in america, while looking tough saying so.

So Pascal should take less money for the rematch?? Its not like Hopkins got robbed. He didn't win 8 clear rounds, he got knocked down twice and none of the judges scored the fight for Pascal.
