they all owned good left hands but holmes was better at hitting the target holmes jab has precision that hit the mark like a bulls eye:think

There are others who should be mentioned and had a decent hw career and great jabs like Tommy Loughran, Harold Johnson, Muhammad Ali and Wlad Klitschko.

In my opinion Holmes. It didn't have that much power but he threw it so fast and with so much accuracy. Liston's jab was much more powerful but power doesn't mean anything as long as you don't land your punches and Liston had much more trouble with landing his jab than Holmes did.

Worth mentioning: Dariusz Michalczewski - one of the most powerful jabs ever. When he started to land jab his opponent was in big trouble.

i have not seen any footage of tommy or harolds jab ali had a weak jab as his hand was in an open position more like a backhander and wlads jab is very poor he has no full extension to it and throws it very uncoordinated:think

  7. i think that liston had better jab and harder than holmes, h ehad longer reach too, maybe holmes had a bit faster jab

Larry Holmes, his left hand was good enough to carry him into his later years.

    I prefer Joe Louis's jab.
It was real compact, sharp, fast, and full of power.

    Holmes and Liston come close.

i always thought that louis's jab was more like a range finder and a set-up for his lightning right hand

It's what you like. No wrong answer.
