Which heavyweight champion avoided the most top contenders ?

  1. really? I would say that they was ducking him, like mike tyson.
Simply foreman was old and slow and a guy like tony tucker would run during all the fight to survive like alext stewart did, so foreman was intelligent and he wanted to face guys who had a good style for him. In few words, he was old and he wanted to get the maximun money, without to risk so much. He knew that he might knock tyson out, but guys like tucker probably would outbox him. IN HIS PRIME FOREMAN FACED FRAZIER,ALI,NORTON,CHUVALO,PERALTA... EVEN FOREMAN BAD MENTALLY FACED LYLE AND YOUNG. JIMMY YOUNG WAS STOLEN CLEARLY AGAINST ALI,NORTON AND SHAVERS. AND LYLE GAVE THE HELL TO TONS OF FIGHTERS, AND HE DESTROYED SHAVERS. LARRY HOLMES NEVER FACED YOUNG OR LYLE WHEN HOLMES WAS A PROSPECT IN 1976-77, AND LYLE WAS NOT EVEN IN HIS PRIME, BECAUSE HE DID HIS PRO DEBUT IN HIS 30S.

Bowe was saved by the ref!! - Now if Bowe was against Lewis there he clearly would of been stopped. Bowe steered clear of big punchers

Are you positive about those big money offers from Langford, Jeanette and McVey? I mean back in those days it was next to impossible for a black fighter to get a titleshot?

We're discussing boxers records in the ring.

Sugar Ray Robinson beat the crap out of his wife constantly, by all accounts. It doesn't change his record in the ring.

If Evander Holyfield goes out and commits a heinous crime against a woman or child tomorrow, do we all of a sudden say he had no heart as a fighter ?

    It really is David Haye.

If he retires next year he will have the weakest heavyweight record of any previous heavyweight champ.

Bowe fought the likes of Holyfield, Cooper, Thomas, Morrison, Biggs, Tubbs, Dokes and Golota. There were others, too. All mostly past it, but big names and almost all ranked in top 10.

At heavyweight David Haye has only fought Barret, Valuev, Ruiz and Harrison. He's planning to retire next year, whether the Klitshko fight happens or not.

David Haye. Worst heavyweight champ EVER!

Riddick Bowe,,,,,,,,,,,Eddie Futch knew he couldn't take a punch from a big man.

Jack Dempsey wanted to act, and just do boxing exhibitions.
