Dear Hopkins,

I'd like to add to the previous letter that although you put in a tremendous effort for your age, Pascal beat you. Your great effort and some help from the judges have earned you a well deserved rematch from the Champ. Please accept it. Although you see it as a moral victory that you were able to give Pascal such a tough fight, the fact remains that a moral victory is not a real one. Foreman remains the oldest champion of all time.

Agree that's why this match was so close, no one was really dominate each others.

I have no issues with people picking Hopkins the winner although he took the hardest shot all night and that's why I thought Pascal won. First time I saw Hopkins schooled in counter punching, his pace, stamina and his beautiful jab still among on top of the world tho.

Pascal has alot to learn from the old man.

 

Cmon, Hopkins is no doubt a great fighter, but don't go overboard. His best wins came against blown up guys whose best divisions were below what he beat them at. Besides Tarver, who was never that great, the best guys Hopkins fought his own size he couldn't pull out a W (RJJ I, Taylor I & II, Calzaghe, Pascal).

And Pascal is no superstar, let alone great fighter, which is maybe why Hopkins had no hesitation in accepting the fight. He didn't want anything to do with Chad Dawson, that's for sure.

Regarding the Calzaghe fight, everyone gives Hopkins props for not allowing Joe to look good, but he cops no criticisim for having to resort to illegal wrestling and spoiling tactics to do that. Hopkins looked like garbage that fight. Why does Joe get no credit for that, considering Hopkins turned in a vintage performance against Pavlik soon after?

 

Boxing needs to pay him a "stay away" fee! Ha!

 

Joe gets credit for being an amazing talent. The problem is that he is generally from the same era as Hopkins. While Hopkins was taking on ATGs and HOFs wrecking his body in the process... Joe was? In ring years Joe is youthful and his potential was never realized.

Who is is best "In His Prime" win? Kessler? Bika? Lacy? It sure wasn't the shells of Jones and Hopkins. As great as Hopkins looks we all know he isn't the fighter he used to be.

That is just my take on it though. Others may differ...
