What if Jack Johnson came along a few years earlier & challenged Champion Jim Jefferies. Would this be a differrnt result?

I think I would lean cautiously towards a primed Johnson.

    Fight to the finish: Jeffries.
    10-20 rounder: Johnson.

Johnson would have won no matter when they fought.

That was the logic they used in making Jeffries-Johnson 45 rounds in 1910. They figured Johnson wins on point easily in anything under ten but the superhuman Jeffries could last on grit and endurance alone while Johnson would fade then Jeffries could take over. Anything significantly over 20 round scheduled favors the boxer KO'ing the muscle man

Johnson was too black and too heavyweight for Jeffries, the Caucasian North American Middleweight Champion

  10. probably, but a prime jefries would give him much more work

Jeffries even admitted that at no point in his career could he match Johnson. No to mention, Johnson manhandled when they finally did fight. He toyed with the man, smiled at the crowd, and didn't even look like he broke a sweat.

johnson would take a decision ,jeffries gives a much better account of himself but still looks like the beaten fighter by the end of contest

I think Jeffries would try to use his fancy speedy footwork to try to run circles around Johnson, only to have his rhythm constantly put off from Johnsons clinching and usage of angles.

I could see there being a lot of knockdowns on both sides as well.

Prime Jeffries kos Johnson ,then goes for a 30 mile victory run, with the unconscious Johnson draped around his shoulders.
