It's December 2008. Pacquiao has just moved up from 130 to 135 to 147 in a span of 9 months and destroyed Oscar de la Hoya to upset the critics.

WW is one of the strongest divisions in the world. The top 5 ranking accoring to the Ring Magazine is.

    Title Vacant
    1. Antonio Margarito
    2. Miguel Angel Cotto
    3. Shane Mosley
    4. Joshua Clottey
    5. Manny Pacquiao

Fast forward 24 months. After moving down to 140 to win the Ring Magazine title, Pac moved back up in weight and has beaten Cotto, Clottey, and Margarito, and is scheduled to fight Shane Mosley.

yeah it's crazy really innit? i was saying to someone only yesterday how drastically the lightweight to welterweight landscape has changed in 24 months.
and 2 yrs ago i would never have envisaged pacquiao being the last man standing at 147.....

    Oh shut up.

Maybe, 2 years ago Shane Mosley was a top welterweight, but that is the point. 2 years ago. If you haven't seen Mosley's last 2 fights, which I clearly doubt you have based on this thread, he was schooled badly by Floyd Mayweather and looked nothing short of terrible getting a gift draw against b-level Sergio Mora. After these 2 terrible performances which have proved beyond any doubt that Mosley is a shot fighter, Pacquiao, the pound for pound number 1 boxer in the sport chooses to fight him. Despite being offered fights by challengers who were more deserving, and had come off wins as opposed to schoolings and gifts, Pacquiao chooses to fight Shane Mosley. The shot old man, who is a shadow of his prime self.

Please don't make a fool of yourself. The facts are in front of you, don't ignore them. Pac is cherrypicking, and if you can't accept that, your deluded.

Pac would have got more respect had he fought these guys 2-3 years ago but that wasn't possible! The only other guys worth fighting at 147 are Floyd and Berto.

We are in the present now though. He gets credit for beating cotto and clottey, but lets not pretend that margarito and mosley are the best current welterweights in the world.

I can't be assed with either pac or money atm. People like khan, froch, hopkins, martinez, lopez all fighting the best out there and money and pac continue to fight opponents who aren't a challenge.

They aren't improving their legacy with these wins, they aren't proving anything by them. Look at hopkins taking on pascal, that is balls and that is the type of performance that will see him go down in history.

The truth is floyd is horribly inactive and pac hasn't fought a p4p top ten opponent for years now. These two aren't worthy of their position in boxing.

Shut up. I'm a hater for pointing out that Pacquiao is fighting a shot to pieces old man? I'm not a hater, I'm a realist. You are an idiot nuthugger. You probably think this fight is brilliant, you probably think it's a good fight for Manny to take. You are a deluded idiot. If Manny fought another old man like Emmanuel Augustus in his next fight would you advocate that? Would I be a hater if I criticised it?

If you don't think Pacquiao is cherrypicking this old, shot man, your a blind nuthugger. If you think the Mosley fight is good for Manny, then you need to get your head checked. If you think I'm a hater for pointing this obvious joke of a fight out, you're pathetic.

There's nobody for Pac to fight at Welterweight, Floyd doesn't want to and nobody else are worthy.
