Since the Middleweight tourney in 04 the most excitement I have had has been the previous golden age for the 147 lbs. He had Floyd, Cotto, Margarito, Mosley, Cintron, Clottley, etc... But come to think of it what was the outcome of the whole thing? Margarito got caught with handwraps, Mosley KOs Margo, but loses to Cotto, Margo/Cotto beat Clottley, Mosley gets wipped out by PBF, etc. With so much talent and skill at 147 lbs its sad that theres still unanswered questions.

Don't worry - Pac started cleaning house in '08 and he will soon be finished.

So many matches could have been made.
    Cotto/Cintron
    Clottey/Collazo
    Cotto/Floyd
    Cotto/Hatton

I'm forgetting who else had a piece in the division.

Paul Williams, at the time. Carlos Quintana, but he wasn't on the same level as the others.

    Quitana/Cintron would have been good.

its no longer a deep divisionn really, proven by Manny having noone to fight really that will be much competition. only Berto but we're all 99% sure how tht one will go. or having people come up in weight.

Williams-Margarito II would've been a war. I really enjoyed their 1st fight, if it was a 15-rounder Margarito would've won IMO.

Yeah I know its not anything compared to how it used to be, but my thing is the fallout of the division. Margo since he beat Williams, Cintron, Cotto, etc would be the clear winner out of the division, but the whole handwrap ordeal kills it. Mosley beat Margo, but lost to Cotto and outclassed by Floyd. Floyd only fought Hatton, Zab, and Mosley. Theres no clear head of the division.

Cotto was the star of a very deep division until he ran into Margarito and his plasterhands

Floyd and Manny need to fight, and thats how we get the clear head of the division. But i wouldnt hold my breath for that one. Either way aside from those two, 147 is pretty ****ing weak nowadays. Nowhere near as deep as in the 90s and early 80s...especially the early 80s...

Fast forward 24 months. After moving down to 140 to win the Ring Magazine title, Pac moved back up in weight and has beaten Cotto, Clottey, and Margarito, and is scheduled to fight Shane Mosley.

People always trying to include Pac or PBF in something. I'm not even including Pacman in this.

Pac fought Margo, Cotto, and now Mosley AFTER they were on top. Mosley is shot to ****, Cotto was ruined by Margo's brickhands, and Margo after Mosley knocked him out.

Margo, Cotto and Mosley fought each other while they were on top of the division.

Cotto wasn't ruined then and he isn't ruined now. This will be proven in time.
