Anyone think Floyd would have beaten a prime DLH?

I think I had it 7-5 or 8-4 with Oscar fading in the last rounds. Oscar wasn't as tentative when he was younger, was sharper, looser...I think he would have done it. People underrate his skills.

The final round is the one that Oscar arguably won.

The DLH he fought at 154 was not the greatest, but pretty damn good even when Floyd fought him at that time. Now the the DLH at 147 against Manny is a better question. Im one of the few that felt DLH should have not retire if he was going to continue fighting but at 154...

If the way-past-it Oscar kept the fight close, a prime DLH would have rammed the jab into Floyd's face all night long.

This is a joke right ?
A prime oscar thrashes a prime floyd.
Oscar fought fighters on another level compared to what floyd has faced !

This is ridiclous. Mayweather weighed in 148 walking to the ring, Oscar was most likely 163+. You're looking at the same weight difference from the Margarito and Pacquiao fight...except Oscar has more skills than Margarito. Mayweather was still an extremely small WW back then and still moved up and beat Oscar. Mayweather is just a better skilled fighter.

Floyd wins because of defensive prowess. The delahoya did fight was a bigger man than a prime delahoya and had to shrink to fight at 154. That bigger delahoya was able to to impose his will physically. And that's the only reason the fight was close.
A welter weight dlh would have to fight Floyd at a distance and that would work in floyds advantage as the fight would be more of a chess match.

prime oscar, forrest, winky at 147 give mayweather hell, he will struggle vs prime trinidad & even paul williams or margarito when they were at their height of their carreers at 147.

Come on, did you even watch the fight.
The judges must have given DLH everything they possibly could, and even then couldnt gift him the fight.
He did ok for 2 rounds while Floyd took a look at him, then it was a takeover.

Floyd could and IMO would, always beat DLH.

I'd say the current version of Floyd would beat a prime Oscar. He's simply a smarter fighter, at any weight, really. But, Floyd was very undersized, for the weight, back in 2007. The extra muscle would help him, in the matchup, against a younger, fresher Oscar. And I don't think even a prime Oscar figures out the puzzle.

DLH barely landed anything meaningful throughout the entire fight even having a massive weight advantage. Floyd's just a better boxer. That's all.

It would have been very close and I'd give the edge to Oscar for activity. If a 33 year old Oscar was dead even with Floyd thru 8 rounds, there is no doubt in my mind a younger prime Oscar could beat him.
