Enough with these bull**** Calzaghe threads. Nobody gives a **** what he would have and could have done. He was content with staying his comfort zone and not challenging the elites in their primes, and retiring with a worthless undefeated resume.

Well it shows the damage Calzaghe did to Kesslers confidence.
The real beautiful thing though is that Calzaghe beat the undefeated Kessler legally when 36 and past his prime.
Ward had to do it with illegal headbutts against an unwell double vision suffering version.
Ward was able to beat Kessler because of Calzaghes blueprint :smoke.
Even the scorecards were similar in the Calz - Kessler fight and the Ward - Kessler fight and Ward was a young fighter, whilst Calzaghe was past his best.
    As you say beautiful

This forum is just full of Calzaghe haters and this thread proves it. When these haters are confronted with stark facts they still find a way of belittling Joe like saying things like:

    1) "Brits bringing up Calzaghe!"
    2) Ward would beat him (based on what? a third arm with two eye sockets and a nose?)
    3) Froch's resume is better (like any SANE boxing fan thinks Froch beats Calzaghe!)

Each of the above doesn't change the fact Joe beats everyone on my list therefore it's irrefutable that they are living in Joe's shadow.

I'm sorry but I like calzaghe and rate him highly but he has gone and I don't care.we just had bhop Vs pascal, IMO a master at work, we got fights like froch Vs Johnson and ward Vs Abraham etc, JC is not an issue anymore unless he comes out of retirement

Bute and Calzaghe had 2 common adversaries: Bika and Salem and Bute beat them easier than Calzaghe so yeah!..
BTW: Salem KD Calzaghe...I guess these "left overs" give him some trouble :) Bute has way much power then Calzaghe, he doesn't slap people hehe :)

It's not like Kessler was well when Calzaghe fought him. He didn't spar due to a broken right hand suffered some 3 weeks before the fight. The hand was surgically repaired afterwards.

Kessler denied this right after the fight, but Calzaghe fought most of his career with damaged hands and had broken hands in many fights. Thats how Calzaghe was most of the time

Often happens a champ shows the way to beat people and then the fighters coming up then dare to fight them. B Magee, Butes next opponent beat a former Calzaghe opponent straight after Calzaghe also, but like Bute wouldnt have fought the opponent without being shown the way etc. Still all this means nothing, I mean remember Calzaghe beat an undefeated version of Kessler that beat undefeated Andrade, who was unlucky not to have had a KO over Bute :p. So Kessler looked more impressive than Bute on the first meeting with Andrade

Thats right, because Calzaghe retired. Must be hard for the Hopkins fans to accept Hopkins is only there by default
