Anyone think Floyd would have beaten a prime DLH?

Mayweather was faster too when he was at lighter weights. Oscar wasn't past it, he just got beat by a better skilled fighter. Oscar would never beat Mayweather. He's not smart enough.

Void lost to an old Oscar. Oscar in his prime would have knocked Void out!

Floyd UD Oscar prime for prime. When Floyd fought Oscar he was basically a junior welter fighting at 154 pounds. He had a small frame back then, and he still beat Oscar. You have to put that into consideration because of the size difference. For some reason Floyd didnt even look like he was trying against Oscar. It seemed like whenever he wanted to land he did.

In theory you would think ODLH would have a great shot at beating him, but one of Oscar's biggest flaws imo, was that he did'nt fight consistently over 12 rounds, now im not just talking about stamina, im talking about being consistent with your game plan.

Remember how dejected ODLH looked against Quartey before his late onslaught, remember how he switched off against Tito, was not as effective in the second half of the Whitaker fight? I just dont think Oscar is capable of staying to true to what he needs to do for the whole fight, beit stamina or concentration wise.

I think the fight would be closer, but that Oscar would lose again, that robot stalker mode he falls into is the worst thing you can do against someone like Mayweather.

So Floyd fans are saying Floyd is no longer in prime because his fights suddenly got competitive.

His prime just happened to end when he started fighting better fighters. Of course not the best, no, as usual its best to leave Floyd up to the imagination where he could always be as good as his fans think he is.

This is not worth debating, dude.
There is nothing to debate in that statement.
I know its Mayweather's greatest win, and the thought of an old Oscar being his greatest win is discomforting. But hey, if it makes you feel any better an old Sweet Pea is Oscar's greatest win. :good

De La Hoya the prime of his career was in no doubt Trinidad , every fight after that there was an issue , slowly the fame and fortune crept in , slowly the proffesional hunger was fading away and slowly over the years Oscar's skills as a boxer eroded , all post Trinidad . IMO he had looked worse in the ring before Trinidad , but on the night of that fight he proved the shape he could get in and proved the fighter he was , so that has to be the bench mark of Oscars prime IMO

So the answer to your question for me is YES , does a 147 lb Floyd Mayweather defeat that version of Oscar for me YES , why because the styles suit Floyd , i think physically DLH had a lot more in the tank back then and may of reduced the score cards to about 2 or 3 in Floyds favour but ultimatley i see Floyds hand being raised .

All that said Oscar was an animal @135 , now thats a fight i would of loved to see De La Hoya Mayweather @135 !!!! , thats where i see Oscars best chance of beating Floyd , very realistic chance of Oscar knocking his ass out TBH , but Floyd was a young AMA when Oscar was winning world titles at that weight ...........

    :good

Thats cuz u can't debate it. Nobody was screaming that Oscar was past it until he got schooled by Floyd. Everybody somehow magically becomes past it when they get in the ring with Floyd. Unless we're talking about a green Mayweather who 1st started boxing, Mayweather always beat DLH at anyweight, anytime.
