Referee has to save Haye in or around the 8th but the beating is so bad that he never steps foot in the ring again.
the thing for me is haye wont be in the pocket hell either be on the attack or on his bike , wlads never face anyone that does that , his opponents tend to stay just in or just out of jab range and get jabbed to death , how easy will wlad find the jab on a genuine in an out target
This is exactly it. I believe Haye knows exactly what he is facing and how to accomplish the task. I'm not sure that Wlad does.
To get in and out on Wlad is very ****ing hard. It either takes alot of skill or alot of balls or he has to get tired (which he doesn't really risk anymore). If Haye can get Wlad angry then he could make Wlad stand his ground more and even push the fight. Then Haye might have similar success to Brock. However I think Wlad will treat Haye like Haye treated Audley and that is to not let him win quickly and with a big punch.
Good post ! A few notes, Harrison is 6'5 and Wlad 6'6 1/2 so the height isnt that much of an issue BUT the Wlad body is far stronger and bigger showing greater muscular culture than Harrison who whilst heavier is softer. Wlad physical presence is far greater, far more dangerous than Harrison self being. It like Tyson.....stats says he was 5'11 but his presence was far greater in a qualitative way. Everything else is spot on though, Wlad abilty to make the other fighter stay out of his way is a very subtle art....Chagaev when fit (wasnt on his last outing) is a very effective if somewhat boring fighter and Wlad made it look easy and never went into 3rd gear.
I can easily see this fight turning into a low-output bore with a points decision. Haye's not looking for a points win, it's unlikely he could get it. He'll want to bomb Wlad out. I think he's going to weave under Wlad's jab and use his underrated body-punching. But if Wlad times him (surely the tactic he'll work on) David's getting laid out cold.
Because David hasnt improved since then, and Wlad has big time. If David fought that version of Barrett now, i think he would take slightly longer. Remember when your a hungry dog, and you want all the food, your nasty, fierce and competitive with an inner drive that is all or nothing...you want to be top of the mountain. This though can change when your there, the limelight, the fact he earns alot more, the birth of his children, the slight change in his personality from my observations of watching him throughout the years. Hagler once said its hard to get up and run in the morning when your wearing silk pyjamas.
Wlad hasn't improved. His quality of opposition has steadily decreased and he's not had to deal with anyone fast.
I very much agree with your view of the fight, i feel the first 5 rounds or so we wont seen much action, but a few heavy exchanges with Wlad being hurt and David on wobbly legs. By the 9th im thinking Wlad stops David. Of course this analysis goes by my obseravtion of David last 4 fights over the past 2 years Barrett, Valuev, Ruiz, and Harrison and Wlad fights against Rahman, Chagaev, Chambers and Peter.
I disagree, i believe Chagaev and Chambers are better fighters than Thompson and Rahman. Sultan is a strange one, i feel chambers is better than him but its very close. I was impressed with Eddie movements in the fight against Wlad and i think he does that better than Haye BUT Eddie dosent have that punch that Haye has.
Haye hasn't faced someone as big and skilled as Wlad with the handspeed and power as well as ring generalship. You can flip it both ways. Wlad hasn't faced anyone as powerful and fast as Haye since Sanders. It's new territory for both guys.
yes you can and thats my point with haye being in range when hes on the attack and out well out when hes not haye (it sounds simple) will not be tradint in range , he will be coming in firering and then back ou , well out , on his prverbial bike its all about how they ajust to each other , haye to a big man with a jab , wlad to a genuine moving target , real power and most importantly reel speed
Agree with that. But the unique thing that Haye has is the Athleticism IMO. And I think that will make the difference. I just hope we get to find out!!!
