since getting into mma i've noticed that a hell of a lot of people[and fighters] don't like tito ortiz, why is that? i've read that people think he is pretty mediocre as a fighter, yet he became a champion. shouldn't that be admired that someone who isn't particularly skilled became the champ? personally i don't like or dislike the guy. i saw him on the ultimate fighter and he came across as an ok kind of guy.
Hes well above medicore even now if people cant see that they cleary dont know what they are watching or talking about. The dislike comes from him being a douche to nearly everyone including fans.
Tito's always played the heel. Thats just his persona. Early UFC loved it. He helped build the brand.
I have liked Tito for a long time..but I don't like the fact that he hasn't won a fight is sometime, but gets to keep a roster spot to where other fighters are cut after one loss. I know the BS because of the name...but he is over the hill and would like to watch up and coming fighters, that don't have to worrie if they are going to get cut after one loss.
a past it ortiz is hanging, arguably beating the best the division has to offer - machida, evans and hamill.
the thing is the guy keeps suffering pretty honourable losses. i dont mind the ufc keeping him around
I like the guy, he was really nice to matt hamil in that season of TUF, and he did a great job of commentary on one of the Strikeforce cards, came across really well
i don't. i meant the evans fight. machida he nearly finished it. it means he is still relevant. the hamill fight should make him have a long hard look at his career though.
Tito seems like a decent dude who happens to say a lot of stupid stuff. Nonetheless he's a legend in the sport. His fight with Frank Shamrock is one of the greatest of all time and his feuds with Ken and Chuck are a huge reason why the UFC is still operating and expanding today. He definitely deserves some heat for his douchey behavior. This content is protected
Probably cause he's the douchebag of the sport, weird, cause I always cheer for the douchebag of sports, like Mayweather.
