Warren made a good point in his recent column. For all the criticism of Haye-Harrison and the poor effort put up by Harrison - it by and large, deflected the role of the promoter in this.

Moreover, if you look at Haye's recent promotions (Ruiz & Harrison cards) they have been absolutely **** poor and the cards as offerings as PPV - the worst of 2010.

One thing absent in Hayemaker's recent promotions is value for money. In fact, the constant obsession about leveraging big purses and gimmicks to try and claw additional revenues means that Hayemaker is the bonafide Ryanair of boxing promotions in Britain.

For 2011 it will be interesting to see what PPV offering Hayemaker will produce, the under card, opponent and location etc. I will not be buying another crappy match-up or a 5am fight from Vegas - even if it is a Klit bro. :hi:

People were defending the Haye-Ruiz undercard (chief supports of Groves vs. Adamu and Olusegun v. Lynes), I thought it was Godawful for a HW world title card.

Just noticed as well that Ajose hasn't fought since that fight in April. I know he had a fight lined up in Morocco that fell through but he should still be more active. What are those guys playing at???

I know - that was even worse than the Haye-Harrison under card - which at least had Groves-Anderson. I just think that Hayemaker are given a free pass with their PPV promotions because it features Haye in a world title bout.

PPV is the future of boxing, whether we like it or not, but I think Hayemaker has sailed below the radar somewhat when it comes to scrutinizing his cards.

    Sky should share equal blame.

They ought to say to Haye (and whoever else wants to put a card like this on PPV) - ''is that it?''

The Haye vs Harrison bill turned out better than originally planned, because Groves vs Anderson replaced Chris Edwards vs Ashley Sexton, which had 12 round snoozer written all over it.

    Hopefully the Wlad fight happens......

I was thinking the same thing just the other day as it happens. One fight every 6 months against people like Colin Lynes isn't good enough for someone with world title ambitions. Really needs to step it up in terms of activity & better fights if possible

The Klitschko's regularly put on even more boring undercards. Heavyweight undercards don't seem to mean **** anymore.

I recognise the WBA title, what's that other belt Andre Ward has in your avatar? I remember Marquez having one against Katsidis and wondering what it was.

I went to Wlad vs Eddie Chambers, the undercard was absolutely horrible, and we had to endure a 45 minute concert of some shitty Dutch pop band covering English songs like Chelsea dagger.

Klit undercards are the worst but they're not on PPV

Hayrmaker undercards are **** cos they don't have any fighters apart from Haye and Groves. Remember when they were putting on domestic fights on Setanta? They gave us some great fights.
