Spoon was a much better fighter than Lyle ... Lyle had an edge in power although Spoon could really hit .

personally I think spoon would take a decision vs Lyle as Lyle always failed to beat the best and failed to even get some quality wins past shavers

  5. he grant, spoon was not much better fighter than lyle, no way, lyle was tested against much better fighters. and yes, lyle was harder puncher for sure.

  6. tommy i am not saying that it would be impossible, of course the spoon who faced holmes might beat lyle by decision, but you forget that this holmes was 34 years old and spoon was 25. i can say that the lyle who fought foreman might well ko spoon, tim was not durable like foreman, not even close. lyle might well ko spoon like smith did, and lyle was harder puncher than james smith hands down. but i respect your opinion.

Yeah ,just think of all those rated heavyweights he ko'd ,there was???And then there was ????
Lyle joins the ranks with Tony Ayala,Ike Ibeabuchi, and walks off into Greek mythology. To stand with Achilles,Hercules, and Hector.

Love when newbies immediately qualify themselves as flyweights.

Everytime your mouth opens I see your foot in it ... :D

Now watch the film and see how little you know about this topic.. Lyle took bombs from Shavers, far bigger shots than Rocky was ever hit with in his whole career and came back to score a terrific KO ...

Lyle stopped Shavers , hardly a unique feat, who else did he ko?

What is the qualifying time period before one can post a comment ,and must it concur with yours?
Are you the chairman of the vetting committee?
If so please advise when it it permissible to comment.

Ive been here longer than you ,so I know best.:patsch

hey not many could go toe to toe and slug with shavers and win. you think ali and holmes fought him like that LOL. last thing you wanna do is trade v shavers or foreman and lyle was one who could hold his own with them so yes he did have good power to able to do that - you get crushed otherwise. i would love to see that in full - terrific non-stop action.

  14. absolutely

  15. i agree man, lyle took brutal shots from shavers and he destroyed shavers. shavers was harder puncher than marciano, no doubt about it.
